John remained at number 4 in the Power 25 this week:So far, Cena has not been able to lock the STF on Big Show, leaving us to wonder whether or not he will be capable of defeating The World’s Largest Athlete in the Submission Match at Extreme Rules.
As seen last night on Raw, Carlito made his surprise return to television after a near three-month absence by mouthing off the John Cena. Considering he also worked house shows over the weekend, from the surface, it would appear that "he's back." That is actually not the case.
While plans can always change considering he's not yet been released, Carlito is not being brought back as a regular at this point; he was merely used because he's considered "throwaway" talent nowadays and they didn't want Cena burying an active wrestler. However, Vince McMahon found Carlito to be quite useful in getting his message across to the locker room.
During the segment, Carlito admitted that were Cena to lose at WWE's upcoming Tables, Ladders & Chairs pay-per-view, he and, allegedly, a host of other wrestlers would cheer at the tops of their lungs. The Caribbean Superstar then described how he and others are tired of always seeing Cena's name atop the marquee and featured on all of the merchandise. BeforeCarlito could spit his trademark apple in The Champ's face, though, Cena beat him down and threw him over the top rope, effectively burying him.
The segment was designed as a "worked-shoot" as McMahon is upset with certain wrestlers in the locker room trashing the company's franchise player behind his back. Hence, the segment took place in order to send a message to "the boys" — quit speaking ill of Cena. What Carlito said during his promo last night very much rings true; there's a number of wrestlers resentful of Cena's position in the company and they would love nothing more than to see him knocked down.
As far as Carlito is concerned, he appeared in exchange for McMahon helping his father out with his Puerto Rican based wrestling promotion.

John Cena called out Sheamus
Having survived being blindsided by Sheamus the week prior, WWE Champion John Cena dared The Celtic Warrior to try and slam him through a table again. Rather than Sheamus, though, The Champ received Carlito in the ring. The Boriqua brother admitted that were Cena to lose at WWE TLC: Tables, Ladders & Chairs, Carlito and, allegedly, a host of other Superstars would cheer at the tops of their lungs. Carlito described how he and others are tired of always seeing Cena’s name atop the marquee. Before Carlito could spit his trademark apple in The Champ’s face, though, Cena beat him down and sent him scurrying. That’s when Sheamus showed, but he only stared Cena down before leaving to fight another day.

One night after his impressive victory over both members of DX, John Cena was unceremoniously slammed through a table by his next challenger — Sheamus. Did the Irishman pick a fight with the wrong guy?
WWE Champion John Cena def. CM Punk
Raw’s special guest host, Gov. Jesse Ventura, expressed his desire to break free from convention – and tonight he succeeded. He arranged a non-title match between WWE Champion John Cena and a Smackdown Superstar, CM Punk. The preachy pugilist, Punk dropped by Raw just one night after falling shy of clinching victory for Randy Orton and his team at Survivor Series. The Champ, on the other hand, was fresh off a successful title defense against Triple H and Shawn Michaels at the colossal pay-per-view.
The momentum proved too much for Punk to overcome as Cena dug in his heels and managed to triumph over his opponent’s high-energy attack.
WWE Champion John Cena and Sheamus signed title match contract; Sheamus attacked Cena
Gov. Jesse Ventura has never been afraid to speak his mind. So, at the conclusion of the contract signing between WWE Champion John Cena and his opponent at the WWE TLC pay-per-view, Sheamus, Ventura admitted that he thought there was a conspiracy at WWE. As the host of Conspiracy Theory, a true TV program that has Ventura hunting for answers to determine the validity of various theories, the WWE Hall of Famer told The Champ that he feels there’s a conspiracy by WWE officials to maintain Cena as the face of the company.
While Ventura went on to say that he hopes Sheamus defeats Cena, The Celtic Warrior attacked the WWE Champion from behind and slammed him through a table. It was then that Ventura declared that the WWE Championship Match at WWE TLC will officially be a Tables Match.

While Triple H and Shawn Michaels insisted that competing in a Triple Threat Match for the WWE Championship would do little to sever the deep bond between them, the allure of gold proved too much for the DX cohorts, who quickly turned on one another. As their alliance frayed, WWE Champion John Cena eagerly leveraged his opponents’ betrayal into an intensely fought victory.
Things started out amicably enough. The Game and HBK even greeted the crowd together as DX’s entrance music pervaded the arena. Seconds after the opening bell, however, Michaels unexpectedly lulled his associate to sleep with Sweet Chin Music. With Triple H out cold, HBK and The Champ exchanged strikes.
As any member of the WWE Universe can tell you, though, never count out Triple H. The King of Kings rallied and the three-man clash took on a different, and dangerous, dynamic as the action moved outside the ring. It was there that The Game smashed HBK through the announcers’ table with a spine buster, leaving Triple H to contend with the WWE Champion. While the match nearly ended with several two-counts, in the end a fatigued Cena refused to quit against his equally exhausted rivals and managed to pin Triple H to retain his title.
While it remains to be seen whether or not DX will survive this latest chapter, WWE Champion John Cena appeared more than happy to close the book on Survivor Series 2009 with his title intact.

Heading into Survivor Series, The Champ won a Triple Threat Tag Team Match against Big Show & Jericho and D-Generation X, the latter team which had both the challengers for his title.
CAN DX HOLD UP UNDER CAPITAL PUNISHMENT?
→ WWE Champion John Cena faces the D-Generation X duo of Triple H and Shawn Michaels in a Triple Threat WWE Championship Match in the Nation’s Capital. the trio has an incredible 24 World Titles on their combined golden resumés.
→ While DX and Cena have kept a good-hearted, competitive nature between each other on Raw, the WWE universe can see the intense fire and desire in the eyes of D-Generation X to claim Raw’s top title for the DX Army.
→ Cena scored a pinfall over Triple H on Monday Night Raw in Madison Square Garden, embarrassing The Game and DX in The World’s Most Famous Arena.
Prediction: While Triple H and HBK have had their differences in the past, they’ve been a united front since DX reformed this past summer, with no sign of fracture. Look for The Game to use their partnership to his advanatge aginst Cena, and take home his 14th World Championship at Verizon Center.

Filming for WWE's next movie Brother's Keeper with John Cena begins on December 7th in New Orleans. As noted before, Cena will miss WWE live events but will be present at TV tapings and pay-per-view.

WWE Champion John Cena & World Heavyweight Champion The Undertaker def. Triple H & Shawn Michaels and Unified Tag Team Champions Chris Jericho & Big Show in a Non-Title Match
Madison Square Garden has been witness to some of WWE’s most amazing Superstars throughout its storied history: Hulk Hogan, Andre The Giant and Jimmy “Superfly” Snuka to name but a few. Rare, nonetheless, seems the time when such legends converge at once. That was inarguably the case, however, as WWE Champion John Cena teamed with World Heavyweight Champion The Undertaker against Triple H & Shawn Michaels and Unified Tag Team Champions Chris Jericho & Big Show in a Triple Threat Tag Team Match.
Looming large in the subtext was Survivor Series, during which The Champ will face The Game and HBK in a Triple Threat Match while The Phenom must battle Jericho and Show in a three-man affair. Tonight, though, all six Superstars would compete in one colossal clash.
In the end, the two World Champions would prevail when Cena secured the victory for his team. As if to let the WWE Universe know that he needs no assistance, The Deadman suddenly turned on his partner and Tombstoned Cena, leaving the WWE Champion razed and confused.

After enjoying the main event with a front row seat at the announce table, The Champ floored DX and Jeri-Show by announcing next week’s Triple Tag Match main event, with Cena’s partner being The Undertaker.
That whetted the appetite for a colossal main event six-man tag-team match as DX and John Cena squared off against Randy Orton and Legacy.
This bout had some nice little spots and gave Cody Rhodes the chance to shine although DX and Cena — with the help of Hornswoggle — got the victory to send their fans home happy.
The only gripe with the whole evening was the limited use of Michaels and Triple H. The pair should have been involved in more of the action throughout the show, especially as the whole WWE tour was branded as a DX Invasion.

With The Champ looking on from the announcer’s table, the teams punished one another until The World’s Largest Athlete attempted to seal Michaels’ fate. As HBK fended off an attack from Jericho, Show illegally charged him. When Show attempted to land a knock out punch on Michaels, though, he accidentally connected with his partner, allowing HBK to score the pin.
While the turn of events was unforeseen, the biggest surprise came after the match. The WWE Champion revealed that next week’s Raw will include a Triple Threat Tag Team Match involving three teams: DX, Jeri-Show and … John Cena & The Undertaker! Each of the teams appeared as stunned as the WWE Universe as the World Heavyweight Champion slowly and deliberately walked down the entrance ramp, eyeing his opponents.

Cena drops down the rungs of the Power 25 in a bumpy week as Jeri-Show co-existed to chalk up another win for the impressive team. In what could also be considered an omen for Survivor Series, if Jeri-Show got along, why can’t DX? Hopefully Cena can chalk up some impressive wins and gain momentum going into 23rd annual of Survivor Series.
John Cena, Triple H and Shawn Michaels beat Randy Orton, Ted DiBiase and Cody Rhodes, when the faces pinned the heels at the same time. Cena pinning Rhodes was the legal pinfall.
DX and Cena got monster reactions. Glow sticks a plenty! Good main event with great heat all the way through. Legacy got the heat or Cena for the finish and Hornswoggle in DX gear made the save. After the match Cena, DX and Hornswoggle posed for the fans and did the crotch chop in unison.
John Cena beat Jack Swagger to retain the WWE Championship
As this was a mostly younger crowd, the place absolutely erupted when John Cena came out. There were dueling “Lets Go Cena” and “Let’s Go Swagger” chants throughout. The match started very slow with Swagger use a lot of mat based amateur wrestling holds. Cena ended up winning after eventually working through his signature moves and hit the Attitude Adjustment for the win.
John Cena, Big Show, Evan Bourne, MVP and several other WWE stars paid a visit to the Marseilles Training Center in Illinois this past September.

Show said he knows what Triple H and Michaels are up to. He suggested a Triple Threat match with John Cena vs. Triple H vs. Michaels. He then whispered something to Ozzy. Ozzy said, “Tonight there’s a Triple Threat match… John Cena…” Hunter then whispered to Ozzy, and he said, “…versus Chris Jericho versus The Big Show.” Show said that’s not where he was going. Sharon said Ozzy’s decisions are final.
-Michaels and Triple H told Hornswoggle that they need at least two weeks where he doesn’t infringe on their personal intellectual property. He asked if he understands him. Hornswoggle said no. Michaels said he’s in big trouble if he imitates DX again. In walked John Cena. He lifted him off the hook that DX had hung him from. Cena said his uncle hung a leprechaun from a hook once – only once. He said he is the reason they are fighting in a triple threat match later. Triple H said he’s not sweating it too much considering he beat him two weeks ago. Michaels reminded Cena that he beat him in England once. Cena said he beat both of them before. He said, “I beat you. I beat you. We beat each other all the time!” The Bella Twins stared and then walked away, looking creeped out. Cena said, “That didn’t come out right.” Michaels said he knows for a fact that DX has a mathematical probability of walking out of Survivor Series with the WWE Title. Cena agreed the odds are against him, but anything can happen in a triple threat match including friends fighting each other. He said he doesn’t even have to be pinned to lose. He told them to watch the triple threat tonight. He said at Survivor Series, he won’t have two words for them, he’ll have four words for them: “The Champ is Here!” Michaels threw a mock fit, saying he wants someone to get their own material and stop stealing their stuff.
JOHN CENA vs. THE BIG SHOW vs. CHRIS JERICHO
DX came out first and sat at ringside to do commentary. Michaels said it’s hard to do commentary. They joked about someone yelling in their ears all the time. Hunter said Cena shouldn’t have gotten between them and Hornswoggle. Cena came out next, followed by Jericho and then Show. When Cole plugged the WM ticket sales launch, Michaels wanted to know why Cole could do that, but when he does it, everyone calls it a shameless plug. They cut to a break as the match was about to begin, with DX giving Cole a hard time for talking so much as they were getting a countdown to the break.
The match was in progress as they came back from the break. Michaels did commentary, saying he was doing what’s called a “reset.” He screwed up the play-by-play on purpose. Michaels said it’s hard, then mocked Cole by saying he should just say “vintage” a lot like Cole said. Jericho and Show double-teamed Cena early. Hunter went off on a tangent about how much it hurts when you have to pee but you just can’t. Lawler cut him off and said that happens sometimes with Cole during PPVs. Michaels said he has a voice in his head saying it’s great that Cena is getting beat up by two guys. At 4:00 Show broke up a pin attempt by Jericho on Cena. Lawler told DX that might be their future. Jericho slapped Show. Show shoved Jericho over the top rope by his throat. Cena made a comeback, but Show powered out of an FU attempt and landed on Cena. Show dragged Cena to the corner and set up a corner swing splash. Cena moved.
Cole reset the show for new viewers tuning in. Cena caught a charging Show with a boot and the knocked him to the floor. Cena then took on a returning Jericho with a series of moves including his You Can’t See Me routine. As Cena lifted Jericho for an FU, he was too close to Show on the ring apron, so Show punched Cena in the skull. Jericho landed on Cena and scored the pin. Afterward, Show and Jericho set up a double-team hold on Cena. DX made the save. Show KO’d Michaels and head-butted Triple H. Jericho then gave Triple H a Code Breaker. Jericho and Show celebrated over all three fallen babyfaces. They replayed Show’s punches and headbutts, then closed the show by showing Jericho and Show smiling on the stage.

In a brutal back-and-forth One-Hour, Anything Goes WWE Iron Man Match, The Champ prevailed by making Randy Orton tap out in the final few seconds. We’re happy to again be able to say “The Champ is here!”
In-ring: Justin Roberts started to introduce new WWE champion John Cena, but Legacy’s music interrupted. Cody Rhodes and Ted DiBiase, Jr. then came to the ring looking pretty confident with themselves. Cody said the champ…is not here. Ted said Legacy plans to bring back the WWE Title to Legacy since Randy Orton can’t fight for the title anymore. Ted said they didn’t ask the guest hosts for permission because they want to make a title challenge to John Cena right here, right now. Ted told Cena to face one of them or both them in a handicap match if he has the guts.
Right at the top of the hour, Cena’s music hit to a typical huge reaction. Cena came out on stage looking pretty self-satisfied after beating Orton in the Iron Man match last night. Cena then came into the ring shaking his head. He told the “boys” he doesn’t need to brag about what happened last night. Cena quietly said last night was exactly what it needed to be: the best in WWE competing in one final showdown. He said when the clock struck 0:00, they were both exhausted. Cena said he was blown up…naw, literally, he was almost blown up by an explosion. Nice line. Cena said in a weird way, he and Orton put themselves through all that for this…he held up the WWE Title belt. Cena said they did it for the fans and most importantly because the Cena-Orton rivalry needed to end and it did.
Cena said everyone is tuning in to find out who the next challenger is going to be, but he’s standing in the ring with…Randy Orton’s Legacy. Cena pushed his hat back and feigned boredom. Cody said they’re not Orton. Cena said everyone at home is thinking they’re on re-runs with Cena and Orton running around in circles for like 12 years. Cena said he beat Orton last night and earned the right to say no more! He said Ted and Cody can make all the empty challenges and threats they want, but if they want a shot at the title, then lace your boots up real tight and fall in like everyone else to work for it. Cena said he sees two men who haven’t earned it. Feels like Cena addressing the young talent in the locker room. Cena asked the crowd, “Has the Baby Oil Boys Club earned anything?” No! the crowd responded.
Cena said he’s actually a NASCAR fan and he’s been hanging out with Busch and Logano. He told Legacy he booked them in a match tonight. Say hello to your big, strong opponents. Cue up MVP’s theme music. MVP and Mark Henry then bounced to the ring to face Legacy, who smirked and rolled their eyes. Talk about re-runs. Apparently this will help loosely determine the next title challenger. Seems like WWE just stalling for time. Cut to break.
After the bell sounded, Triple H took the mic and said he had a little meeting with Busch and Logano in the back. Hunter said he got this match changed to a Lumberjack match. And the lumberjacks are all the guys Show screwed at the PPV last night. Out came Miz, Chavo, and Henry leading the group. Heels and faces were together. Even Miz and Bourne just after battling. Jericho comically slipped to ringside, then out of the ringside area, and to the arena stands to leave. After the Raw theme hit, Michaels took the mic and said this is also a No DQ lumberjack match. Which means…these lumberjacks can do just about anything they want to do to Big Show. Oh wait, Mr. Official, you won’t be needed. Michaels said they have a special guest ref. Cue up John Cena’s theme music. Big Show frowned, then Cena hit the ring with a ref t-shirt. He did a big “I’m here!” smile and Show tried charging Hunter, but Hunter pulled down the top rope and Show tipped over to the floor where the jacks awaited him. Cut to break with Show in a world of jeopardy and trouble.
Show made a cover, but Cena stopped counting at two. He feigned an injury, then Show confronted Cena.
Suddenly, the Raw wrestlers stormed the ring. Men starting hitting finishers on Show, including Henry popping the crowd with a big corner splash and capped off by Bourne electrifying the crowd with the Shooting Star Press. Santino then entered the ring and said, “you ahhhh make me so mad.” Santino did his fist motion like a snake and Show grabbed him by the throat for a chokeslam. Kofi then snuck in and gave Show Trouble in Paradise to save Santino. Crowd nuts at this point. Suddenly, Show walked into Cena, who delivered the FU in center ring. Crowd was hot as Shawn Michaels entered the ring. Hunter put a Blue Smackdown t-shirt on Show as Michaels tuned up the band. Whole arena doing the tune-up before Michaels barely connected with the superkick (camera shot covered for the airball). Hunter followed with the Pedigree and he scored the pin as the crowd went nuts.
Post-match: Cena, Michaels, and Hunter celebrated in the ring. Busch and Logano then came out on stage and thanked everyone for letting them host the show tonight. He said they’ve been thinking all night about who should face Cena for the title at Survivor Series. They couldn’t agree on it all (fitting the theme of them disagreeing on everything), so they found one person who put them all on the same page. Out came Hornswoggle, who was still wearing the DX gear. Announcers repeated the “cease and desist” order. Busch then announced a triple threat match: Cena vs. Michaels vs. Hunter at Survivor Series. Cena stared at Hunter, then Michaels, then Hunter, then Michaels. Michaels kind of stared into space. Hunter didn’t know what to say. Cena did an “I dunno” reaction as they closed the show.

PITTSBURGH—It took 60 strenuous minutes and a combined 11 falls in the Steel City for John Cena to triumphantly culminate his vile rivalry with Randy Orton, as The Champ recaptured the WWE Championship in a One Hour, Anything Goes WWE Iron Man Match at WWE Bragging Rights.
In an effort that would easily make Tony Stark envious, Cena earned six decisions to Orton’s five in this extreme variation of a WWE Iron Man Match. The Champ’s conquest not only commenced his seventh World Title reign but also preserved his exclusive residence on Monday Night Raw. (Match scorecard)
The sands of an all-important hourglass trickling away, both champion and challenger distributed assaults as vicious as they could conjure – particularly, Orton – between glances at the diminishing clock.
Leveraging the rules to his advantage, The Viper unleashed craven attacks with a TV monitor and microphone to draw blood from Cena’s skull. Despite the drip of the scarlet fluid from his forehead, the No. 1 contender fought onward, sustained only by medical technicians’ superglue which kept the wound sealed for the 40 remaining minutes of battle.
Even The Legacy emerged, damaging Cena enough for Orton to attain an additional pinfall before Ted DiBiase & Cody Rhodes were chased from the Mellon Arena by a chair-wielding Kofi Kingston.
When The Legend Killer discovered the pyrotechnics controls, it appeared that Cena might not even make it out of WWE Bragging Rights. Fortunately for the West Newbury warrior, he moved out of fiery harm’s way just in time before feeling the fireworks blasts on the stage.
All the heavily inflicted torture came full circle for Orton, though. Incensed and somehow still stalking the WWE Champion, Cena ravaged through his foe and mustered the gumption to collect The Viper’s scaled body for an Attitude Adjustment through the announce table.
But even that wouldn’t be the sealing blow. The seconds rapidly descending, Cena clutched The Legend Killer within the STF for a tie-breaking, final fall that crowned a new WWE Champion.
The climax of this bout puts to rest a tumultuous quest by both Orton and Cena, who’ve spent the last several months dueling for the WWE Title. One-on-one, “I Quit” Match, Hell in a Cell. They’ve traded some of the fiercest onslaughts seen in the squared circle in 2009. But, with one single hour of punishment, the 12 Rounds star, who vowed to leave Raw if he lost in Pittsburgh, concluded his epic war with The Viper.
Despite the magnitude of his success at WWE Bragging Rights, the WWE Universe should expect no boasting from Cena. Instead, he will soldier into Monday Night Raw – his established home – as a humble, yet heavily decorated warrior ready to defend the gold and prepared to demonstrate why, once again, The Champ is here.
John Cena will be off house shows during the month of December in order to film his next movie, Oxley's Road. This straight-to-DVD project has Cena playing the role of a pro wrestler whose younger brother is trying to make it as a high school wrestler.

Triple H def. John Cena
In what may prove to be his final match on Raw, John Cena went face-to-face with one of the show’s toughest competitors, Triple H. The two powerhouses clashed like a sledgehammer against a cement wall. In the end, though, only one man could prevail. And when the bell finally rang, it was The King of Kings who drove through wall. As Cena rose after his defeat, the WWE Universe offered him a salute befitting a warrior the likes of which may never been seen in Raw’s orbit again.John Cena dropped another two rungs on the Power 25 this week when he suffered two losses on Monday night to the members of Legacy.
It was a rough Monday for John Cena as the former WWE Champion suffered two losses in the same night. Hopefully, his One Hour, Anything Goes WWE Iron Man Match has a better outcome.

Triple Threat WWE Bragging Rights Qualifying Match
Cody Rhodes def. Ted DiBiase Jr. & John Cena
Despite having to face off against his trusted partner, Cody Rhodes nonetheless put aside his loyalties in order to seize a spot on Team Raw for WWE Bragging Rights. The young Rhodes even pinned his Legacy partner Ted DiBiase, as the third man in the Triple Threat Match, John Cena, found himself distracted by his WWE Bragging Rights opponent, WWE Champion Randy Orton.
After the contentious bout, DiBiase appeared so irate that he nearly exchanged blows with his partner. That was hardly the only surprise. Special guest host Nancy O’Dell shocked the foursome when she announced a Tag Team Match for later in the evening: Rhodes & DiBiase would face Cena and his partner, Randy Orton!

Ted DiBiase Jr. & Cody Rhodes def. WWE Champion Randy Orton & John Cena
John Cena failed to retain his WWE championship in a brutal Hell in A Cell match against Randy Orton this past Sunday, causing him to lose his top spot on the Power 25.
In his first-ever Hell in a Cell Match, Cena lost his WWE Title to Randy Orton. He will look to get it back in a 60-minute, Anything Goes WWE Iron Man Match at WWE Bragging Rights.
Less than 24 hours after capturing the WWE Title from John Cena at Hell in a Cell, new champion Randy Orton wasted no time bragging dismissively to the WWE Universe. For his part, Cena wasn’t about to let The Viper get away with it. After poking at Orton’s ego, the WWE Champion relented and agreed to meet Cena one last time in a 60-minute Anything Goes Iron Man Match at WWE Bragging Rights, in a bout that will see no disqualifications, count-outs or rematches. If Cena wins, he will be WWE Champion. If Orton wins, however, Cena will be booted off Raw for good.
- John Cena will begin filming his next WWE Studios movie this December in New Orleans, titled Oxley's Road. Cena plays the lead character, Cal Oxley, the youngest son of a wrestling family who decides to join his high school's wrestling team. The decision to join the team is made against Cal's mother's wishes in an effort to get her and Cal's older brother to reconnect as they've been estranged for a decade after Cal's father died in a car accident.
-A 15 year old boy is being cast as a younger version of Cal, so he will be the centerpiece of the movie while John Cena plays a smaller role as the older version of Cal. Patricia Clarkson, who has starred in Six Feet Under and Saturday Night Live, plays Cal's mother Sharon. Patricia is also starring in the upcoming Leonardo DiCaprio movie Shutter Island.
-Oxley's Road has a budget of $10 million and will be going straight to DVD. Filming is set to begin on December 8th in the New Orleans area.
Over at WWE.com, John Cena is listed as Superstar of the Day for the 5th October, 2009.

Hell in a Cell Match
Randy Orton def. John Cena to become the new WWE Champion
NEWARK, N.J. — At Hell in a Cell, The Viper reclaimed the WWE Championship and slithered toward his sixth World Title reign, doling defeat to his rival in John Cena’s first-ever bout inside Satan’s Structure.
Since permitting the words “I quit” to seep from his split tongue at WWE Breaking Point, The Viper fittingly molted any skin carrying remnant traces of defeat, just in time for Hell in a Cell.
Callous, unscrupulous, wicked. Proving that the cold of his blood pales in comparison to the noxiousness of his venom, the serpentine aggressor Orton exceeded his personal limits of malevolence in the Prudential Center.
After Cena endured the challenger’s favored weapon – the RKO – the frustrated Viper tightly constricted his ring rope-wrapped opponent’s neck within his coils. With Cena deprived of oxygen circulation, Orton’s (legend) killer instincts seized control. He zeroed in on his titleholding target and charged forward with his skull-rattling punt to put away The Champ.
Worse for wear after equally arduous weeks (and beyond), both individuals entered Hell, though they’d have sworn they’d already driven one another to this fiery destination. Cena, dogged and immune to the Cell-experienced Legend Killer’s intimidation tactics, pledged to display a side of himself more vicious than ever once locked within the 20-foot-high steel entrapment. He even vowed to not just defeat, but also destroy his foe.
But Orton had once before competed in the Satanic construct and danced with its keeper, The Undertaker. Less than one month after surrendering the title to the 12 Rounds star – despite a match spent torturing the resilient, unyielding Cena – The Legacy leader leveraged his familiarity with the Hell in a Cell Match to once again swathe his scaled waist with championship gold.
After years in which their disparate paths have intersected, never have Orton and Cena so fervently fought as in the recent months, culminating inside the five-ton steel aberration. While the two warriors now stand at five wins a piece in all-time pay-per-view encounters, it is The Viper who once again clutches the prized WWE Championship. But how long will Orton’s tenure at the top last before Cena seeks a tie-breaker?
Source: WWE.Com

Only something so precious could lead two mortal men into a realm so wicked and perversely torturous, which is why the WWE Championship will be defended by John Cena against Randy Orton in a Hell in a Cell Match. And it will happen at the first-ever WWE pay-per-view of its kind that sadistically celebrates the vile, steel entrapment.
Through one-on-one wars, turmoil-embossed tag matches and, most recently, a savage “I Quit” Match, The Champ and The Viper have already driven themselves through what seemed to be Hell. Now, the most grueling installment of their rivalry locks the championship-minded gladiators within the most literal manifestation of this fiery dominion.
As mandated by Raw special guest hostess Trish Stratus, Cena will find himself in a most unfamiliar territory, within the caged walls and ceiling of steel Hell. While The Legend Killer has faced the devil himself – The Phenom – in this barbaric setting, The Champ will experience the very first Hell in a Cell Match of his career.
The Viper is also now seething after having the words “I quit” forced to roll from his forked tongue at WWE Breaking Point. Focused on sustaining his Legacy, Orton is determined to make Cena’s WWE Title reign a three-week rental.
However, now that he is once again the man to rotate the gold logo on his prized WWE Championship, Cena is likely not ready to commence the countdown to his final spin. What immeasurable level of anguish will the 12 Rounds star and The Legend Killer aim to inflict on one another inside the hellacious structure?
Find out live on Oct. 4 at WWE Hell in a Cell, the inaugural pay-per-view event designed to take Superstars to Hell and back … if they’re lucky.

The champ beat CM Punk this week, ranking at #1!
Six days before defending his title at Hell in a Cell, Cena fought a hard Gauntlet Match and sent a clear message to Randy Orton by giving him an Attitude Adjustment atop Satan’s Structure.
In the biggest Eight-Man Tag Team Match in SmackDown history, Superstars from both SmackDown and Raw battled for bragging rights on one of the biggest nights in WWE. After a hard-fought war, it was Undertaker who reigned supreme for his team when he crushed Randy Orton with a devastating Tombstone. The brutal end begs the question – what kind of condition will The Viper be in on Sunday when he takes on WWE Champion John Cena in Hell in a Cell?

He defeated Randy Orton in an I Quit match at the Breaking Point pay-per-view in Montreal on September 13th, to claim the WWE Championship. Cena won his first world title in April 2005, and has held the WWE championship four times and the WWE World Heavyweight title twice.
“Now, obviously, my plate is a lot bigger. It’s just more responsibility,” Cena recently explained in an exclusive interview with
SLAM! Wrestling.“When you win it for the first time, I think it’s the satisfaction that you finally did it. But then the very next day you realize, okay, it’s just starting.
“Now, having success for a sixth time, I know what’s in store, not only from a brand standpoint and what’s going to happen on WWE, I certainly will be in for some new challenges, but for instances such as this, I know my schedule will be completely full, just because of the fact that everybody wants to be able to interview the champ.”
In Toronto to pimp WWE sponsor Gillette and The Score’s new show, Drafted, Cena was asked to go back — way back — in time to 2003 when he had a Velocity match with Bryan Danielson, who was recently signed to a WWE deal and is expected to debut on the main show shortly, bypassing the company’s developmental territory in Florida. Also signed was another former Ring of Honor World champion, Nigel McGuinness.
Does the locker room talk about signings like Danielson and McGuinness?
“Certainly, if the locker room remembers that Velocity match a long time ago [see it on YouTube], they’re much more of the historian category than I am. We’re always happy to get any sort of talent. I think Bryan will be a wonderful acquisition for the program, as well as any of our developmental superstars,” Cena said, protecting the company’s investment in Florida Championship Wrestling.
The Champ also praised the ECW superstar initiative.
“You’re seeing a lot of new faces on WWE programming,” he said, agreeing that it was refreshing to see. “It really is. It is about time for it, I’ll be the first to say. If we’re going to carry this wave of popularity into the next five, 10, 15 years, we need our young guys, our new faces, to step up now.”
Who is next for that level?
“It’s tough to say, and the good news is that the company is not clearly behind one person. They’re kind of spreading themselves out to see who works out. Between Miz, between Morrison, between Sheamus, between Cody Rhodes, Ted DiBiase, Kofi Kingston, there are so many guys that are getting a shot — finally. It’s just good to see a lot of people getting a shot at once rather than the company firmly backing one individual.”
Cena established a lot of his success on the Smackdown show, both pre-roster split and after.
The just-released Best of Smackdown DVD features Cena, and while he has fond memories of the show, he’s a company man to the end.
“All brands, I think the WWE, that’s our success, whether it’s ECW, whether it’s Smackdown, or whether it’s Raw — or even Superstars. You can’t take any of our programming for granted, because the ratings don’t lie. There are millions of people watching us every week, no matter if it’s Monday or it’s Friday or Tuesday or Thursday, it doesn’t matter. I’m actually very thrilled for Smackdown to not only have a Best of DVD come out, but its 10th anniversary, its 500th episode, I believe, is coming up.”

John Cena b. Randy Orton via disqualification
John Cena & Triple H b. Randy Orton & Cody RhodesJohn Cena failed to remain on the top rung of the Power 25 this week when he and his team of Henry and MVP lost to Orton, Show and Jericho. He is on number 2 this week
Unfortunately for The Champ, his team was unsuccessful on Monday, leaving him with the unenviable task of having to run the gauntlet against Randy Orton, Big Show & Chris Jericho on the next Raw.
Monday night after RAW on The Score in Canada, they showed a clip of John Cena who was at a press conference for another show on the network called ‘Drafted’, which is like an American-Idol type show for sportscasters. The show is sponsored by Gillette, and I am guessing since, Gillette is doing a promotion with WWE, that’s why Cena was there. Anyways, they had Cena do an “audition” calling sports highlights. Don’t know if this was coincidence, or poking fun at Angelina Love, but when introducing himself to the judges, he joked, and I don’t remember his exact words, but it was something along the lines of “I am illegally in Canada, but if I am selected, I will make sure my paperwork is sorted out.”
Hogan was on Bubba the Love Sponge’s show today talking wrestling and he briefly talks about The Orton-Cena Feud, this is what he had to say:Bubba said how much he loved Orton and Hogan went on to highly praise Orton and Cena. Saying that they both have that “it” factor and how great the two of them are. That sooner or later, they’re both so established Vince will be able to turn Orton babyface and Cena heel and make money with it.

During a WWE Hell in a Cell contract signing, Randy Orton & Unified Tag Team Champs Chris Jericho & Big Show confronted WWE Champ John Cena, MVP & Mark Henry; the two sides will face off in main event
Some men resort to sly, underhanded and treacherous tricks to achieve their goals. Other men prepare themselves for just such deceit. Such was the case when Randy Orton and WWE Champion John Cena met in the ring to sign the contracts for their WWE Hell in a Cell Match. After emphasizing the fact that Cena has never competed in a Hell in a Cell bout, Orton ushered out Unified Tag Team Champs Chris Jericho & Big Show, who promptly surrounded The Champ. Cena, however, had backup.
MVP & Mark Henry rolled up to show their allegiance to Cena. As the six glared intently at one another, guest host Cedric the Entertainer informed them that despite a “no physicality” clause in the pair’s contract, the comedian was going to waive the rule and arrange a match between the two groups at the end of t
Randy Orton & Unified Tag Team Champions Chris Jericho & Big Show def. WWE Champion John Cena, MVP & Mark Henry
The stakes were plenty high before any of the six Superstars set foot in the ring. Randy Orton & Unified Tag Team Champions Chris Jericho & Big Show were prepared to clash with WWE Champion John Cena, MVP & Mark Henry. As he made his way to the ring, however, Jericho upped the ante. The arrogant Superstar informed Orton that the loser of the match – either Orton or Cena – would be forced to compete in a 3-on-1 Gauntlet Match next week; Orton would face Cena, MVP & Henry, while Cena must compete against Orton, Jericho & Show.
As the match got underway, each team seemed bent on proving dominance, especially the two men with the most at stake. As a result, Orton was not about to relinquish any advantage he may acquire so close to WWE Hell in a Cell. With that, The Viper struck, administering an RKO to Henry to claim victory for his team and ensuring that next Monday night, Cena will be staring into the blinding headlights of three runaway tractor trailers each barreling furiously in his direction.
“Definitely, without a doubt,” Swagger said when asked if he can top the streak.
The title shot will likely come against the current champion, Cena.
“That’s what we’re training for. That’s what we’re trying to get to, that’s where everybody wants to be at.”
Swagger said, though, he’ll only wait for so long for Cena to face him.
“If he’s smart, he would be avoiding me.”

WWE Champion Randy Orton vs. John Cena (”I Quit” Match)
Orton has, in my eyes, many more than nine lives. He always finds a way to pull out the win and he is once again battling his arch nemesis. I really don’t see either man saying “I quit,” but if I had to go with a winner here, it has to be Orton.

Cena maintained his spot on the rungs of the Power 25 this week .Cena looked awesome against Cody Rhodes on Monday night, but he fell victim to a vicious RKO from Randy Orton. How will this affect the 12 Rounds star at Sunday’s WWE Breaking Point?
A GX magazine reporter recently interviewed WWE Superstar John Cena before his Monday night RAW match in Washington, D.C. John was finishing up a poker game before the interview began …
GX: Were you winning or losing [the poker game]?
JC: Oh, I’m doing pretty well. I know the folks that play and the folks to stay away from.
GX: What are your feelings on the new partnership with the Guard and WWE?
JC: It’s fantastic. The WWE has openly shown its support for the military, and we can co-exist in a support level and a corporate level. It’s good that we put our heads together. The National Guard came up with the Show Us Your Guns campaign, and there is nobody better then the WWE that fits that.
I’m glad that we can not only go over and help the troops out and do everything we can as far as entertaining them but spread the word on what the National Guard has to offer.
GX: You’ve been overseas to visit the troops. What have those experiences been like?
JC: That is the trip I look forward to every year. I think we have been over there six years. I’ve been over there five of the six years, and for us it is like any other holiday. I know that the first two weeks of December, we will be going over there to have a great time. It’s not only great that we get to perform, but we get to spend a week with everybody. I’ve always felt at home. I never once felt in jeopardy at all. We’re certainly in very safe and secure hands.
GX: What is it like interacting with the troops over there?
JC: It’s fun! It’s great. That week building up to the show, everybody has a lot of fun with you. It is a very humbling experience because everybody wants to take a shot at you. Everyone is very respectful, and they greet us with open arms. They treat us like one of their own. That’s a special thing to be able to say.
GX: If you could say something to the troops, what would it be?
JC: I have nothing but the utmost respect for any member of the U.S. military. I’ve taken their creeds and codes, and developed my own sense of being off of what they stand for. It gives me great pleasure to just be involved in any capacity. And they keep this country free, which I know they will keep doing. I’m so very happy to be part of the contribution–to spread the word and be able to go over there and make them smile.

Preview: WWE Champion Randy Orton vs. John Cena in an “I Quit” Match
August 24, 2009
Less than 24 hours after Randy Orton squeezed out a victory in Los Angeles at SummerSlam, WWE Chairman Mr. McMahon announced that the WWE Champion would again defend his title against John Cena at WWE Breaking Point, except this time in an “I Quit” Match.
This declaration didn’t come out of thin air though, as just before The Chairman made his entrance, Orton and The Legacy revealed that the “fan” who interfered the previous night at SummerSlam was actually Ted DiBiase’s brother Brett.
Although The Legend Killer claims that he had no prior knowledge of Brett’s attack, he did reiterate for Cena that he was still champion. This didn’t seem to sit too well with Mr. McMahon.
So, whether Orton knew the younger DiBiase was at ringside or not doesn’t matter now, as at Breaking Point, it will be an “I Quit” Match between The Viper and the 12 Rounds star. The added stipulation is if anyone attempts to interfere in the match on The Legend Killer’s side, Orton will be stripped of his title. The WWE Champion will have no underhanded tactics that will be able to get him out of this one.
In reality, there will be only one Superstar walking out of Montreal as WWE Champion, and that man will be the one who can take his opponent to the limit, inflict as much damage on them as possible and send them past their Breaking Point.
Who will be the one uttering the dreaded words “I Quit”? The only way to find out is by tuning into WWE Breaking Point emanating from the Bell Centre in Montreal on Sunday, Sept. 13, live on pay-per-view.

John Cena def. Cody Rhodes (Disqualification)
Before locking up with John Cena, Cody Rhodes addressed Randy Orton’s RKO on his father, Dusty Rhodes, from last Monday’s Raw. While the WWE Universe wondered if this shocking move would cause Rhodes to leave The Legacy, the second-generation Superstar made it clear that he would be sticking with Orton and Ted DiBiase. He then vowed to make Cena tap out in tonight’s contest.
Things did not go the way Rhodes had planned, however. With his WWE Championship “I Quit” Match against Orton only six days away, Cena looked more motivated than ever. The 12 Rounds star tossed Rhodes around the ring before locking in his brutal STF submission hold. Rhodes reached his own breaking point and was ready to submit when The Viper interfered, causing a disqualification. Cena was clearly enraged by Orton’s audacity and delivered an Attitude Adjustment to Cody Rhodes, sending a clear message to the WWE Champion.
In the ring, Randy Orton grabbed the microphone and told the WWE Universe that he will leave WWE Breaking Point with his championship. This arrogant announcement caused John Cena to rush to the ring to confront Orton. The two men quickly traded blows before Orton laid the 12 Rounds star out with a brutal DDT. The Viper then showed how vicious he can be by delivering an RKO to Cena onto a steel chair. As Raw came to a close, Orton stood over Cena’s fallen body and vowed to make him quit on Sunday.

John Cena is featured on the October 2009 WWE Magazine: and even has a feature interview in the pages, talking about his lessons throughout life of Hustle, Loyalty and Respect:

Excerpts from “John Cena on his code of Hustle, Loyalty and Respect”
“I guess everyone has a message, and ‘Hustle, Loyalty and Respect’ is mine, explains John Cena to the WWE Universe. Whether people judge me differently for wearing it on my sleeve, I don’t care. I have always been fascinated by the military’s discipline, and how they use words like honor, code and respect, and I’ve managed to combine that with what I’ve learned in life.”
Hustle
“Work Your head off”
Lesson #1
If you don’t have it, get it.
“I was taught at a very early age by my dad that nothing in life comes free. I wasn’t given enough God-given ability to be the absolute best at everything — I always had to work for it. But I was fortunate enough to have some good role models along the way.”
Lesson #2
Hustle takes discipline.
“Often, I’ll have a long travel day to a live event followed by a post-show autograph signing. I can be up until 1 a.m. meeting fans. A lot of people might sleep in, but the first thing that I do in the morning is go straight to the gym. Maintaining regimens in my schedule keeps me in check.”
Lesson #3
Hard work won’t always pay off the way you expect.
“I would say that I could have hustled more in my preparation for WrestleMania XXIV in Orlando. I didn’t win. WrestleMania is what you work all year for, and I had had a bit of a down year, what with my pectoral tear. I worked my head off to come back early and it didn’t pay off. Sometimes you work your hardest and it doesn’t work out exactly how you wanted.”
Lesson #4
Hustle comes from the most unlikely places.
“Here are the three fresh names that are really leading the way as far as working their heads off. The Miz is working hard both in and out of the ring; so are Cody Rhodes and Ted DiBiase. Ted just filmed The Marine 2 and is hustling overtime on the promotion of the movie. Believe it!”

John Cena maintained his #4 spot on the rungs of the Power 25 this week.Cena found himself on the receiving end of a Legacy beatdown at the end of Monday’s Raw. He’ll have to be on his game if he expects to dethrone Orton at WWE Breaking Point.

WWE.com have added the rest of the pictures from the Make A Wish event where John Cena met with Derek and made his wish come true, sharing an ice-cream with John Cena at the Cold Stone Creamery. I absolutely love to see the smiles he can put on the faces of these children, its so nice to see John interact with the children in such a way. It’s always great when WWE promote this stuff.

WWE Title Match: Cody Rhodes vs. Randy Orton
Back from commercial and John Cena is backstage with Josh Matthews. Matthews asks about the WWE Title. Cena says he does control the fate of the belt tonight as he's the special referee. Cena cuts a promo and says at Breaking Point, he will not quit and will win.
The WWE Champion Randy Orton makes his way to the ring for tonight's main event. We see Dusty Rhodes backstage giving Cody a pep talk as we go to commercial break.
Back from the break and Cole and Lawler confirm that Bob Barker will be hosting next week's RAW. Cody Rhodes makes his way to the ring with Dusty right behind him. Lilian introduces this match's special guest referee - John Cena, and he comes out to a big pop for the most part. Cena comes in the ring and checks Orton. Dusty takes the mic and says there's nothing a father wouldn't do for his son. Dusty tells Cena he is sorry and Orton and Cody attack Cena.
Ted DiBiase comes down and hits Dream Street on Cena. All three members of Legacy beat down Cena as Dusty looks on. DX's music hits and out they come to the ring. HBK goes after Ted while Triple h works on Orton. Cody goes down. Dusty enters the ring and hits Triple H in the head with his cowboy boot. Shawn gets triple teamed by Legacy now. Cody hits the Crossroads on Shawn.
Orton stomps on Cena. Legacy stands with Dusty Rhodes, raising their hands high as DX and John Cena are laid out in the ring. Out of nowhere, Orton hits the RKO on Dusty. This pisses Cody off. Cody is furious as Dusty is laid out in the ring. Orton stares down Cody and he looks away. RAW goes off the air with Orton staring at Cody and the crowd chanting Cody's name.
John Cena fell three spots down the rungs of the Power 25 this week, when he was defeated by the Viper, who would use absolutely every trick in the book to keep hold of the WWE Championship.
At SummerSlam, Cena walked away empty-handed after a very controversial loss. With his next match against WWE Champion Randy Orton being an “I Quit” Match, we don’t see that happening again.

DX & Mr. McMahon def. Randy Orton & The Legacy
For many, it felt as if they were watching dogs snuggling with cats, the Boston Red Sox high-fiving the New York Yankees or Britney Spears reuniting with reality. Only this was even stranger: Mr. McMahon paired with his longtime tormentors DX in the ring. While the coupling was certainly unprecedented, it was also successful. Although The Chairman and his teammates had never fought together before, they were cohesive enough to hold their own and chase Orton from the ring.
As Orton tried to slither up the ramp to safety, his path was obstructed when John Cena entered. With nowhere to run, Orton clamored back into the ring, where HBK offered up Sweet Chin Music. Then, it was Cena’s turn. Avenging his underhanded loss from the night before, Orton’s SummerSlam opponent took the opportunity to administer a well-deserved Attitude Adjustment, allowing Mr. McMahon to pin The Viper for the three-count.

WWE.com have finally added the photos where John Cena did a Q&A with Nancy O’Dell and the fans. I have added the 6 files to the gallery. So, check them out now.

John Cena has beaten brutes, behemoths and big mouths in the past several months during which he has chased championship gold. But it was beating the clock that earned Cena a one-on-one opportunity against WWE Champion Randy Orton. His coils tightly constricting the WWE Title, The Viper has spent the same number of months enduring a gold-hungry Animal in Batista, an extremely personal vendetta with The Game (which still appears yet to be fully resolved), and even the 12 Rounds star himself, who fell to The Legend Killer just recently in a chaotic Triple Threat Match at Night of Champions. None have been able to dethrone Orton – for long, at least – while armed with a pair of well deployed mercenaries in Cody Rhodes and Ted DiBiase, his Legacy. But if it’s one thing Cena has done time and again, it is excel in the most critical settings. A signature clutch performance against The Miz in a “Beat the Clock” Match on Monday Night Raw earned Cena his dance with Orton at SummerSlam. The brief instance by which the No. 1 contender secured his title bout could lead to the ushering in of a new WWE Championship reign at The Biggest Event of the Summer. Will The Viper shirk this challenge as easily as a serpent molts its skin? Or will Cena strip the gold from the scales of The Legend Killer en route to capturing his fourth WWE Championship? Tune in to SummerSlam, live from Los Angeles’ STAPLES Center to find out.
The Miami Herald has an interview up with The Miz and he breifly mentions how working with John Cena helped and hurt his career.
On how working with John Cena both hurt and helped him: “I think in some ways working with John Cena helped me, and in some ways it hurt me. In the biggest way, it helped me realize certain things. It helped because I said things about Cena that everyone else was thinking about but afraid to say. I said things everyone wished they could say but never did. The way it hurt is I got beat. Cena is the poster child of the company. He is our No. 1 guy. I guess to get beat by him is OK. It kind of made me realize I need to gain more experience to be at that level, and that’s where I’m going to now, to build my way up to the level, so I can be that main event star and be the poster child of WWE. Let’s face it. John Cena isn’t going to be it forever.”
Cody Rhodes was recently interviewed by the Fan House about his career in the WWE and is asked about wanting to be a heel in the company and about the WWE making “breakout” stars and he mentions John Cena:
Yeah, I completely see that. Another one of the differences is I think the heels (aka bad guys) appeared to be bolder types in the ’80s and ’90s, with fans truly hating these guys. When I spoke to Honky Tonk Man, he said that nobody wants to be a real bad guy anymore. Do you think that’s true these days?
It’s tough when you classify, but Honky Tonk Man knows what he’s talking about. A lot of guys, it’s not that they don’t wanna be bad or edgy, but there are just a lot of guys who want to be the next Rock. They want to be the next John Cena. And when you attempt to be the next anything, you’re going to fall flat on your face. When we walk into an arena, if the fans boo us out of the building, and the fans go ballistic when John Cena gives us an attitude adjustment, or when Triple H tries to give one of us the Pedigree, that’s what the experience is about. It’s about putting smiles on the fans’ faces. In my case, and I can speak for Ted (DiBiase) and Randy (Orton) in this instance, we are three guys who are pretty rough around the edges and genuinely don’t mind being bad guys.
WWE Champion Randy Orton vs. John Cena
Randy Orton is probably one of the best out there at this time. I can honestly say that just looking at him on the TV that you can feel the arrogance and entitlement and wonder just what limits he will go to in order to continue to hold onto his title. On the flip side, Cena is the polar opposite of Randy Orton. When I see him, I see someone who loves every minute of what he is doing and loves nothing better that to entertain his droves of fans. While all of this is great, the simple fact is these two truly have a hatred for one another and when they enter the ring on Sunday, that will be plainly obvious. I think it is time for Cena to once again regain the gold and run with it.

CAN THE VIPER HANDLE THE HEAT?
» Randy Orton’s two-month reign as WWE champion is in jeopardy this Sunday as he squares off again his most-persistent rival, former three-time WWE Champion John Cena.
» Several Raw guest hosts have put Orton in tough matches in the past month, only to have Orton be saved by his Legacy protégés, or to have the Legend Killer walk away, taking a count-out loss. Such behaviour has led Cena to accuse the champ of “whining” and ducking top contenders.
» Orton and Cena’s attempt to co-exist as a tag team in last Monday’s Raw main event led to a win for the duo, but the partnership was quickly dissolved, as Orton RKO’d his SummerSlam opponent seconds after the match ended.
PREDICTION: Randy Orton enters the STAPLES Center with the WWE Championship, but if The Viper’s getting “skinned” by Cena, he’ll do whatever it takes to slither away with the title. Expect John Cena’s determination and drive to regain the gold to pay off as The Legend Killer’s attitude gets “adjusted,” and the championship leaves with Cena.
John Cena maintains the #1 position on the Power 25 this week after a strong showing in the tag match, toppling the Unified WWE Tag Team Champions and becoming the victor and standing tall, despite a sneak attack from Orton. Will John Cena’s momentum hold on through ’til SummerSlam?
Despite being the recipient of a vicious RKO, Cena was able to rise to his feet and clear the ring to be the only one left standing tall in the squared circle at the end of Raw.

John Cena threw out the ceremonial first pitch at the LA Dodgers Vs. the Chicago Cubs game. We have obtained some shots of John Cena throwing out the pitch for the LA Dodgers. They have been added to the gallery for your viewing pleasure.
Former WWE writer David Lagana, who now works HDNet and ROH mentioned some things about John Cena during his interview with WrestleZone:
When Lagana entered WWE back in 2002, he worked under Paul Heyman on Smackdown for a year before eventually being thrust into the lead writer job; a job he admits he wasn’t ready for at first. Years later, he was reunited with Heyman when WWE launched its version of ECW on what is now the SyFy network. During his 6 years with the creative team, David Lagana had his hands in creative that helped not only pave the way but guide the careers of many of the company’s most popular superstars.
He recalls working with John Cena in 2003 and watching his star rise by saying “[John Cena] was really one of the first big projects.” Igniting John Cena and taking him from being the new guy in the locker room to someone who became an almost instant success seemed to be a memory Lagana was most fond of. “What was so great about John at the time was his passion and it led to eye-catching, star making work. It was like ‘John, Brock Lesnar just injured you, we’re going to shoot five weeks of these raps,’ so I’d give him a location and a theme, he’d go off, come back with a rap, we’d shoot it and put it on TV. I’ll never forget Vince’s face when we showed him the first one. ”
Miz was also asked about the program with John Cena where he insulted Cena several straight weeks on Raw TV, but was booked to lose clean to Cena in three straight matches. Miz said he was glad to be on TV cutting his own promos against the top star in the company, but added that he didn’t look serious enough to beat Cena. He said that was one reason why he changed his look and wore standard wrestling trunks on Raw this past Monday.
“I would have loved to go longer as well, but he’s a main eventer. He’s built his way (to the top). It made me realize certain things and learn more things about myself,” Miz said. “That’s why I came out with the new look. I realized I need to build my way – I need to look and act more serious. The Capri pants with the sparkles probably wasn’t getting the job done.”

It’s that time of year again, where the [pixelated] muscle-bound stars of the WWE come to life in the most realistic wrestling game to date: SmackDown Vs. Raw 2010.
THQ have officially released the first official look at the gameplay and action from the game of SmackDown vs. Raw 2010 and it’s interesting to note that this year is all about customization as aforementioned in interviews with John Morrison and Kofi Kingston, respectively. Whereas last year was focused on the upbringing of tag teams (making them more interactive and more like a tag team!), as well as the introduction of the new Inferno match and the Road to WrestleMania mode, this year shows us that we have complete control over the Season Mode, or Road to WrestleMania (unconfirmed) and depicts that you can create your own wrestler and take him/her through the season, encountering a lot of Attitude Era type storylines along the way.
Whilst the trailer is nothing much to speak of, more just a teaser, it definitely sets the line up for a promising game. It shows such superstars as Rey Mysterio, Randy Orton and John Cena; each up-to-date with their respective television selves. Randy has his new tattoo’s, Cena has his new [HLR] wristbands and Rey has his “half mask.” It’s definitely worth checking out.
They have also released some images and it seems to show us that we can create a scene, which could have an inclination towards something bigger: such as maybe a custom titantron?

Above is a concept picture for the arena (obviously this is not going to be on the game), but what is interesting is the fact that they have released the profile pictures of both John Cena and Rey Mysterio. John Cena is featured in his HLR (blue) stuff it seems for the game. No word on whether the new Attitude Adjustment attire will be unlockable. As soon as we get more information, we’ll let you know.

John Cena & WWE Champion Randy Orton vs. Big Show & Chris Jericho in a Lumberjack Match
The summer humidity outside may have hung heavy in the Missouri air, but the tension inside was almost thick enough to choke on. As Unified Tag Team Champions Chris Jericho & Big Show sized up their opponents, WWE Champion Randy Orton & John Cena, The Viper and Cena were busy sizing up each other. And who could blame them?
Although Cena and Orton harbored obvious distrust, the WWE Universe voiced their opinion on WWE e-Vote, affirming that they felt the two would still manage to squeeze out a victory.
To add to the intrigue, Prinze Jr., bravely returned to establish the tag team bout as a Lumberjack Match with the ring surrounded by his handpicked Superstars, all with a suspicious eye on Orton.
Not only do Orton and Cena have a laundry list of complaints about one another, they’re set to square off in six days at SummerSlam. With a weary eye on their “partner,” both Orton and Cena tried to fend off the sizable challenge of their tag team tormentors. In the end, it was Cena who captured the victory for his team by pinning Jericho. True to form, however, The Viper RKO’d his partner to show his gratitude. As if to prove his mettle, Cena not only rebounded, he also tossed both Jericho and Big Show out of the ring.

John Cena made the jump to the #1 position yet again this week as he had an impressive showing against Chris Jericho on Raw.
Not only did Cena defeat Unified Tag Team Champion Chris Jericho on Raw, but he also cleared the Tag Champs out of the ring. The weirdest thing was seeing him join forces with Randy Orton to do it.

National Guard has uploaded several HQ images of WWE Divas and Superstars to their MySpace profile.I have added the one of John Cena wearing his “HLR” merchandise.
• Forecast your main event match against John Cena at SummerSlam. I’ve wrestled John Cena a couple of times. We have some history, and he is a hell of a competitor. He is one of the strongest guys I’ve stepped in the ring. Pound for pound, I think he is the strongest. The way he trains, his discipline, he keeps getting better every year. The fan following — he has is incomparable to anyone else. … I have Ted DiBiase and Cody Rhodes at my corner. I know they are not afraid to stick their necks out on the line for me. I’m confident in the fact that I will beat John Cena at SummerSlam and remain WWE champion. I’ve been going strong since April at Backlash when I kicked Triple H in the face and put him out for six weeks. I beat Triple H in a Last Man Standing match. I beat him in a Three Stages of Hell match, which ended with me putting him on a stretcher and pushing over the finish line. I’ve been going strong and my momentum has me at a point where that’s the one thing I have on my side.
Pro Wrestling Illustrated has published their “PWI Top 500 of 2009,” ranking the top 500 superstars from all of the promotions. This year sees John Cena take a leap up by six as he lands in with a very respectable spot of #3; as opposed to his last year (2008) ranking of 9. He comes in next to Triple H (#1) and Chris Jericho (#2). Congratulations goes out to John as he has had one hell of a year since his return; garnering two World Heavyweight Title reigns, constantly pursuing the companies top prize and who can forget the spectacle of WrestleMania 25 when he hoisted Big Show and Edge up on his shoulders equalling over 700 pounds in weight on his shoulders. Congrats to Cena, he definitely deserves it.
AC: So you don’t stand out that much in terms of age. Is it a problem that that much of the TNA roster – especially the guys on top – are in the – not even over 40 – but over 45 or 50 club?
KN: You know, the biggest problem that I’ve seen in our business – and I remember a few years ago when Triple-H and Shawn Michaels came into Daytona Beach for a house show. Paul [Levesque] has a coach now that he travels in. We were just sitting in the coach talking. We were kind of going through the rosters and saying who are the guys who are going to replace us. Which guys are going to replace us when we retire? And everybody through names around and there weren’t a whole lot of names of guys who we thought were going to replace us.
You look at a guy like Edge, and now he’s starting to realize – and, gosh, I don’t even know how old he is but he I think he’s in his 30’s. And he’s getting to the point where he’s had a ton of injuries. John Cena has had a ton of injuries. With these guys, it’s almost [a question of] who can last.
Bret Hart briefly mentioned John Cena in a recent interview briefly:
His favorite wrestlers to watch today are Rey Mysterio, Randy Orton, Melina, Harry Smith, Nattie Neidhart, and TJ Wilson (Tyson Kidd). Says he would love to have wrestled John Cena and Batista in his prime.

WWE Champion Randy Orton tried on his professor’s cap when Monday Night Raw touched down in the Great White North. Orton confronted his SummerSlam opponent, John Cena, with a little history lesson. Namely, The Viper reminded Cena how he had defeated him in a Triple Threat Match at WrestleMania XXV and, more recently, at Night of Champions.
For his part, Cena proved no teacher’s pet. The former Champ exchanged pointed words with Orton until they were interrupted by the Unified Tag Team Champions, Chris Jericho & Big Show. The two bragged about how they had convinced Raw’s guest host, Sgt. Slaughter, to arrange two main event matches: Big Show vs. Orton and Chris Jericho vs. John Cena.
John Cena vs. Chris Jericho
Perhaps hoping to boost his standing with his fellow Canucks, Chris Jericho wanted to accomplish something in front of them he’d never done before; defeat John Cena. Well, that quest went about as far as a moose on a motorcycle. As one half of the Unified Tag Team Champions, Jericho certainly held his own against Cena. Unfortunately for him, though, Randy Orton wanted to send a message to his SummerSlam opponent and interfered in the bout. The intrusion triggered an immediate disqualification and also prompted Big Show to rush to the ring. The Unified Tag Team Champions then teamed up to overwhelm Cena and Orton, leaving the two lying on the canvas.
The pandemonium led Raw guest host Sgt. Slaughter to interrupt the proceedings to announce that next week, not only will Freddie Prinze, Jr. act as Raw’s celebrity guest host, Cena & Orton must combine forces to face Show & Jericho. As if to demonstrate their uneasy alliance, Cena & Orton immediately joined together to collar The World’s Largest Athlete and send him over the ropes. The cooperation was quickly followed by looks of apprehension on the faces of both Superstars. Will these two really be able to bury their animosity and work as a team on the next edition of Raw?
John is now at #3.Time and time again, Cena has persevered against seemingly impossible odds and thanks to special guest host Jeremy Piven, the former champ had to do that again in his Lumberjack Match against The Miz on Raw.
Piper also commented on potential future Hall of Famers, such as Jeff Hardy, Randy Orton, and John Cena. He reserved negative comments for Cena based on how WWE presents his character. Cena has said in past interviews that the person on-camera is really himself and not a “character,” but Piper criticized WWE’s scripting of Cena’s actions on WWE TV.
“I think Jeff Hardy is outstanding, not only as a man but as an athlete. “Cena…I think Cena’s too company. I don’t mean he is personally, I think they whitewashed him too much. I think if they let Cena go a bit, he would do even better than he’s doing.”
“Dr. Ken” Jeong appeared on Friday’s “Late Night with Jimmy Fallon” in support of “The Goods: Live Hard, Sell Hard.” Late in the interview (in which Jeong got over big time by mocking his father as an Asian stereotype), host Jimmy Fallon brought up Jeong’s RAW appearance and aired a clip of Jeong getting tossed outside of the ring. Rather than seriously addressing the unfortunate bump he took (Jeong said his injury was more emotional than physical), the comedian cut a faux-angry promo on Cena and the WWE fans who “turned on him.” Jeong jokingly criticized Cena as indignant for tossing a “doctor from Hollywood” out of the ring, before commenting that pressing someone so small is far from an impressive feat (he cracked that even Jimmy Fallon could do it).
Jeong, playing off the comedic anger he built up in his rant, called Cena “ugly” and said that he understands why women are not attracted to him, why kids do not like him and why men do not want to be him. The “Hangover” star promised revenge and forcefully danced and mugged for the camera as Fallon brought the show to commercial.
Jeremy Piven tweeted about John Cena:
“Hey Cena, take the torque off next time, Dr Ken is in bad shape so watch your back.”
“RT@Kat_Moyits not wise to call out Cena lol@jeremypiven. I have no fear of John Cena he looks like he swallowed matt damon and mark whalburg“
What have you made of Chris Jericho since his return to the promotion?
He’s a great wrestler and he’s proved just how great since he got back last year. Chris is one of my favourite people in the world – he’s a genuine guy and he’ll never stab you in the back the way that others would. John Cena is the same – just a straight up nice guy, no hidden agenda and one-hundred percent genuine. It’s a shame you can’t say the same for a lot of others in the business.”
What do you think the problem is regarding creative?
“Well, here’s the thing. A lot of the internet and the wrestling fans get worked up with certain people, saying how a guy like Cena sucks and that’s fine. It’s their right to do so, they bought their ticket, they can do what they want but they don’t know the guy. As I said earlier, John’s one of the nicest people I’ve ever met in my life period but a lot of people crap all over him. If creative didn’t worry so much about doing their scripted interviews and just took a little time with people outside of the ring, showed the fans who we all are, it’d be interesting and it’d get the boys over. You watch me on a show and you just see me wrestle. You draw your own conclusion. If you were to spend ten minutes with me backstage or at home, you’d have a different opinion. They should open that door and make it more real. It’d be something the fans would enjoy, especially since everything on TV seems to be about reality stuff now anyways.”

Piven and his associate, Dr. Ken Jeong, who also stars in The Goods and the comedy The Hangover, impressed the crowd at the Mohegan Sun Casino & Resort when they rolled into the arena in a blinging, blue Trans Am. As the two Hollywood heavyweights addressed the Raw faithful, Hollywood bantamweight The Miz interrupted. The self-centered Superstar asked – no, demanded! – that Piven arrange a rematch between him and John Cena, after his loss last week.
Cena, also a man who knows how to please a crowd, did not disappoint. He came to the ring to accept Miz’s challenge. And just to thicken the plot, Piven then announced that the bout would be a Lumberjack Match. Not only that, if Miz loses, he won’t be allowed to compete at SummerSlam and will be banned from L.A.’s Staples Center. Oh, and it gets worse for the faux-hawked farce. If he drops the match to Cena, he’ll also be banned from Monday Night Raw.
Lumberjack Match
John Cena vs. The Miz
Jeremy Piven and Dr. Ken Jeong may be hilarious actors, but they’re not much for facing down insidious Superstars who can easily put them in traction. Perhaps that’s why, after a confrontation with WWE Champion Randy Orton earlier, Piven chose to make all the lumberjacks in the night’s main event unfriendly faces for the 12 Rounds star. It was a treacherous situation for Cena, but for Miz, a loss meant he would be banned from SummerSlam as well as from Monday Night Raw.
You’ll forgive Cena for not caring. After a roller coaster of a match, Cena finally managed to pin Miz for the win. After he did, though, Orton & The Legacy got hold of him, pummeling him and leaving him prone on the mat. That’s when Piven and Dr. Ken got the crazy notion to make their marks, too.
Piven climbed the ropes to jump on Cena only to have the massive Superstar catch him in mid-air and use him as a human bludgeon to knock down several lumberjacks. Then Dr. Ken came after Cena with a cane. Big mistake. The former Champ tossed Dr. Ken over the ropes onto another group of lumberjacks. While the two Hollywood heavyweights did stellar work with guest hosting duties, it’s safe to say they should probably stick to their day jobs.

Luckily John didn’t take that much of a drop, as he is now at #3. When one door closes, another one opens. For John Cena, that door opened to the main event at SummerSlam. It will be interesting to see if the former champ can finally top Randy Orton and recapture the WWE Title.

WWE have teamed up with 7-Eleven and Pepsi-Max for this years SummerSlam. For the promotion, they have released several graphical cups featuring top superstars like John Cena, Edge and the Undertaker. For more information, please read the press release.

In a scene greatly resembling WrestleMania XXIV, The Viper repeated history at Night of Champions by retaining the WWE Championship in a Triple Threat Match against both John Cena and The Game.
It was little more than one year ago when Randy Orton maneuvered a critical victory on The Grandest Stage of Them All in Orlando, punting a near triumphant Triple H to steal the pin of Cena. Many believed that The Legend Killer could not possibly encapsulate lightning then release it so that it may strike twice at Night of Champions.
Through Pedigrees, Five Knuckle Shuffles and more, the three warriors clashed until Orton suddenly found himself helplessly locked in a Sharpshooter-STF combo. The WWE Champion tapped furiously, but before the official could determine the appropriate decision to render in this unusual circumstance, Cody Rhodes and Ted DiBiase invaded the ring.
Interrupting the every-man-for-himself melee, Orton’s minions enacted a methodical scheme to divide so that The Viper could conquer. The 12 Rounds star, battled back, however, and hoisted Rhodes upon his shoulders. This gave Orton the single opportunity he needed to slide into position and emphatically bring down Cena with an RKO. Though it also meant an Attitude Adjustment for Rhodes, Orton remained focused, further replicating his WrestleMania moment by covering Cena to wrest the three-count, just as he did in March 2008.
While The Legend Killer bested a pair of WWE’s most celebrated and dogged competitors, this outcome leaves Cena and The Game – who sought his 14th World Championship reign – avid still to wholly requite months of torment at the hands of Orton.
Nonetheless, at Night of Champions, The Legacy was upheld. And after an eve where champions are celebrated, The Viper slithers onward with the WWE Title in tow.
Will double trouble spell doom for Orton?
• At Extreme Rules, Randy Orton lost the WWE Championship to Batista in a Steel Cage Match, but due to an attack by Legacy and severe injury to the Animal, Orton was able to regain the title eight days after in a Fatal-Four-Way match.
• John Cena and Triple H faced off for the right to face Orton at Night of Champions. The match was interrupted by a Legacy attack, which led Raw guest host The Million Dollar Man to name BOTH Cena and The Game challengers for Orton’s WWE title.
• The Game and Cena both worked together in past weeks to fend off Legacy’s advances against them. but in Philadelphia, there will be no “brotherly love” between The Legend Killer’s top two rivals.
Prediction: In this WrestleMania XXIV rematch, look for a similar result, as the Viper-like Orton picks his spot and finds a way to escape with the WWE Title intact.
CFM: Did you talk to John Cena (star of THE MARINE) to get any advice?
TD: Yea, I talked to Cena and he is incredible. He is in THE MARINE 1 and he just finished 12 ROUNDS which just came out on DVD and is doing extremely well. His advice was…be yourself. Just be yourself and listen. It was all I could do. It was my first time in any kind of acting role, apart from wrestling. It was different. This is new to him too. He’s done two movies now but it’s still pretty fresh. He said be yourself, have fun with it, listen to what they have to say. It was a rollercoaster ride but it turned out to be an incredible film.
CM Punk Mentions Cena In Two Interviews
Are any of those guys in your sights after you’ve dealt with Jeff Hardy on Sunday?
CM Punk: John Morrison has beaten me twice in non-title matches, so you’ve got to give a title shot to him. Apart from that I’m looking to wrestle guys I’ve never wrestled before. Triple H, Undertaker, Shawn Michaels, John Cena… guys like that.
Finally John Cena made it to #1!A win against WWE Champion Randy Orton on Raw was fantastic for Cena. Especially since it may mean the former Champ isn’t far from being on top of more than just the Power 25.

It was not the best night for John Cena. A chilly night in Seattle, John Cena took the Code Breaker from Chris Jericho and a pin from the Rated R Superstar. To the surprise of thousands in attendance that night, John Cena was eliminated from the Chamber match at No Way Out, and lost the Heavyweight Title to Edge.
Not to be undone by a bit of misfortune, John kept his monthly promise, and donated his shoes to WWE Auction! Now you have the chance to own this pair of shorts worn by John Cena after this victory at Royal Rumble to his minor set back at No Way Out. Now you can own the shorts that John wore the night that the infamous rivalry was rekindled! Put your bids in now, for the actual shorts worn that night. Put your bids in now, before you can’t see this opportunity any more!

Cena informed the packed house at the RBC Center that when he battles Orton and The Game in a Triple Threat Match at Night of Champions in six days he plans on stepping from the ring with the WWE Title securely in his grasp. As might be expected, the current champion took exception.
The Viper was only too glad to administer a history lesson. He reminded Cena that it was he who retained the title when the three clashed previously in a Triple Threat Match at WrestleMania XXIV before his Legacy henchmen Cody Rhodes & Ted DiBiase surrounded the ring. Before they could act, however, The Game joined the party. He told Orton that he’s unconcerned who wins the title at Night of Champions as long as it’s not The Viper.
After digesting his opponents criticism, Orton was not satisfied to simply antagonize The Game and Cena, he also asked that they include him in the main event match alongside Rhodes & DiBiase. The Game and Cena readily agreed, and so the main event will offer a preview of sorts of the Triple Threat WWE Title Match at Night of Champions.
John Cena & Triple H vs. WWE Champion Randy Orton & The Legacy
For all the disdain he exhibits toward his Night of Champions opponents, Triple H and John Cena, WWE Champion Randy Orton knows enough not to take these two men lightly. As he teamed up with his Legacy cohorts Cody Rhodes & Ted DiBiase against the pair, Orton knew this match would be pivotal. After all, whoever wins would be sure to enjoy a tremendous amount of momentum heading into Night of Champions. The only problem being that The Game and Cena were both well aware of the ramifications as well.
After a bumpy ride – as well as some ill cohesion with The Game – it was Cena who finally scored a quick pin on The Viper, securing not only the win but also a great boost toward Night of Champions in just six days.

Shawn Michaels and the Undertaker may sit at the top of WWE fans’ most adored list, with Jeff Hardy and Rey Mysterio scampering just beneath that hallowed pair. They are men who are revered due to their constant aspiration to please and perform. Yet there is one other figure whose debt to the WWE is not always appreciated, John Cena. He divides opinion like no other. Many love to hate the Chain Gang Soldier, many more idolise him but while others may be more popular, none are more industrious and none have fought harder to prove their worth.
When Cena plied his trade in development and subsequently was promoted to the main roster, few would have expected him to achieve the level of success he has. While he admirably battled Kurt Angle on his Smackdown debut, the list of accolades Cena has garnered – Multiple time world champion, Wrestlemania headliner, the WWE go-to-guy and face of a generation – has surprised a lot of critics.
Some still feel the man from Massachusetts’ triumphs are undeserved and Cena has readily admitted that he is not the purest or most talented wrestler that grappling supporters have witnessed. Yet, the Doctor of Thuganomics may be doing himself a disservice. He is the go-to-guy for a reason. His in-ring abilities have been mocked but looking beyond the snipes, Cena’s bouts more often than not deliver. He has had stunning matches over the years with Michaels and Triple H, bouts that still swirl around the mind as ones to remember. And it is not just established main-event stars that Cena has combated so well.
The respective growths of Randy Orton and Edge have a lot to do with the presence of the 5-time world champ. The long-locked Canadian won his first world title at Cena’s expense and his battles with the man he defeated have helped to transfer Edge from a mid-card, former tag team supremo to one of WWE’s leading lights. The same applies to the Legend Killer. The premier championship had been grasped by Orton before he and Cena engaged in a rivalry but the Legacy leader developed his sadistic heel persona and upped his wrestling ability in his feud with one of his Night of Champions opponents. He has increased that further with Triple H – forever intertwined in his business – by his side but Cena definitely played his part in Orton’s rise to stardom.
Cena has still not abandoned that role as his recent battle with the Miz has proved. The Mohawk-haired loudmouth has become one of Raw’s major assets, due in large part to the man he has such disdain for. Miz may not have gained that elusive victory but he is now a force to be reckoned with. Through an array of opponents, Cena has proved himself to be one of the best in the business and not the lumbering muscleman many would have you believe.
But more than that, Cena tells a story in the ring. He may not have the finesse of Michaels or the technical aptitude of the man who must not be named Chris Benoit, yet his encounters produce a narrative and mean something – a trait that many of the talent-filled WWE starlets could learn from.
Cena’s promos have also come under scrutiny but much like his wrestling ability, they have developed over time. He has always had the gift of the gab but as his WWE tenure has extended, the crude rhetoric has been replaced my passionate words of wisdom and substance. A quick quip may still be heard emanating from Cena’ mouth every now and again but when he delivers intense, heartfelt oratory as he has done recently towards Edge and the Miz, there are few more captivating men to listen to in the world of wrestling, including the sublimely gifted Chris Jericho.
Cena has been booed, ridiculed and told he has no right to grace the wrestling business but he has never given in. He has continued to improve, determined to thrive in an industry that he is obviously so passionate about. Whether Cena is Vince McMahon’s pet project or not, that is not the reason he is the main man in WWE. Cena has reached that apex because of always-developing talent and the desire to learn, charisma and most importantly hard graft, with it becoming one of the most inspirational wrestlers in the business today.

Wow. I can not believe that actually happened. I have been watching wrestling all my life, so guest hosting WWE Raw was a dream come true. But I never thought I’d actually be center ring with the biggest superstars of today! Thank you so much to all of the people that cheered me on- I won’t lie, it was scary getting in the ring with Randy Orton and The Legacy. I felt pretty safe with Triple H and John Cena on my side, but when it was just me and Randy in there…let’s say I’m glad a kick to the gut was the worst I got. That was one of the most amazing experiences of my life. I used to practice my ’superstar moves’ on my sofa as a kid, and last night I got to do it for real. Unbelievable. Thanks to everyone that came out and tuned in- I hope to see you at the Robot Chicken Skate Party when we come to your town! Check out AdultSwimPresents.com for more details!

After coming to Seth Green’s aid in the main event, Cena might have been standing the tallest after Raw, but not tall enough to dethrone Orton from the No. 1 spot on this week’s list.

Seth Green, John Cena & Triple H vs. The Legacy ended in a no contest
Seth Green appeared on Raw brimming with confidence due to the Robot Chicken Star Wars Episode II DVD’s release right around the corner on July 21, and the show’s season premiere airing on Sunday, July 26 at 11:30 p.m. ET (right after Night of Champions on pay-per-view). But, after receiving a disconcerting pep-talk from John Cena and Triple H (both rivals for the WWE Title), Seth Green was apprehensive going into a tag team match against WWE Champion Randy Orton, Ted DiBiase & Cody Rhodes.
Despite ongoing friction between Cena and The Game, the team held it together, with Green even getting a shot in on Rhodes. Later, when the tables had turned in Legacy’s favor, it was Raw’s special guest host who dove in, breaking up Orton’s pin of Triple H. But The Viper didn’t take kindly to Green’s involvement, attacking him and lining him up for his infamous punt. Just in the nick of time, however, John Cena rushed into the ring, defending his celebrity partner, fighting with all of Legacy before The Game joined the melee with his trusty sledgehammer.
After clearing the ring of Orton and his minions, Triple H stopped short of attacking Cena and the Night of Champions opponents shared a heated standoff. The tension was then broken by Green himself, and the three shared an in-ring celebration.

Ted DiBiase Jr. shared his lofty goals with Brian Fritz of the Orlando Sentinel’s Flying Elbow blog and mentioned that he wanted to be the next John Cena:“I would say that I’m very blessed to be in the position I’m in and I have a lot of people to thank for that,” DiBiase said. “I’ve got a long way to go, I believe. Like I said, I’m not happy at all with where I am right now. I mean I’m happy but I don’t plan on being here. I want to be the John Cena, the Randy Orton of WWE. If you don’t, you should just leave. That’s how much we love what we do. You want to be the best.
Over at the wedding channel.com, John Cena’s gift registry is listed, although he is listed as J. C. HUBERDEAU we all know it’s John Cena. To see this list click here

The first photos of John Cena’s wedding to Liz have emerged – John Cena got married yesterday in Boston, MA, to his long-time fiance, Liz. No firm details have emerged yet about the location, or about how large it was, or if any of the other WWE staff were there, but we do have a few photos of the newlyweds to tide us over.

John Cena never misses a beat. While over in Australia recently on the WWE tour; John Cena and Triple H each respectively made dreams come true as they treated the children of the Make A Wish Foundation by honouring their wishes. John met with a few children and as always: signed merchandise, gave them T-Shirts, hats and posed for photos with them.
PWInsider.com posted a note saying that John Cena will be getting married today (Saturday 11th July) in Boston. His father will be performing the service.
While his No. 1 Contender’s Match against Triple H ended in a double-disqualifciation, Cena was awarded a title shot at Night of Champions. Can the 12 Rounds star regain the WWE gold?
WWE has issued the following press release on John Cena’s movie ‘12 Rounds”, beating out the Jonas brothers:
John Cena Pins Jonas Brothers
July 8, 2009
STAMFORD, Conn., July 8, 2009 – WWE Studios’ 12 Rounds DVD + Blu-ray, starring John Cena, was the #1 best selling title for the week ending July 5. 12 Rounds topped the Jonas Brothers: The Concert Experience, Entourage – The Complete Fifth Season and Confessions of a Shopaholic.

Reportedly, John Cena was in a Boston court today asking that the three day wait for getting married after receiving a license in the state of Massachusetts be waived. It is believed that he is getting married this weekend.
The WWE Superstar was in court with his fiancйe — Elizabeth — as well as another female, who appeared to be his publicist. They filled out paperwork and were there for about a half hour, which saw the judge waive the waiting period. Cena waited in line like everyone else, but signed a few autographs in the meantime. He later thanked the staff for helping him.
John Cena is not just strong, he’s video-game strong.
Where else but in the world of Zangief and Kratos can a man lift the 500-pound Big Show and the 250-pound Edge … at the same time?
But that’s the weight Cena hoisted during this past WrestleMania, a feat he laughs off in an almost shylike manner.
“I didn’t know if I was going to have it in me,” he says, “but I guess that’s what makes WrestleMania WrestleMania.”
But could he add any more weight the next time Mania rolls through? Maybe add Hornswoggle as almost a cherry on the top for a triple slam?
“Don’t let Hornswoggle fool you,” Cena says of the 4-foot-4, 138-pound leprechaun. “He’s heavy.”
ESPN caught up with Cena, the biggest star in wrestling since the days of The Rock and Stone Cold, to talk about everything from performing his own stunts in the film “12 Rounds” to being the face of the upcoming game “WWE Smackdown vs. Raw 2010.” Here’s what he had to say:
ESPN: “12 Rounds” just dropped on DVD. Did wrestling in WWE help prepare you for the stunt work you had to perform in the movie?
John Cena: Not only the stunt work but the acting as well. One thing people don’t realize is we film episodic television. We’re the first to say that what we do is entertainment and it’s for the sake of the fans. The fans are pretty much why we exist. So you learn to perform on the fly, and you pretty much learn how to act. So not only did it help me with the stunt work as far as keeping in good physical shape, but it helped me understand the story, helped me understand the script and helped me understand my role. It really got me prepared to be an actor. Those people who are successful in the wrestling business really have to be well-rounded.
ESPN: What’s the craziest stunt you did in the movie?
John Cena: The one where I was really scared was the stunt where I had to repel off a 10-story building. The other stuff I’m OK with. I’m fine with being beat-up and pushed around, but I’m really scared of heights and scared of ledges. It was one of those things, though, where I had to do it, and you can watch in the special features in the DVD, they show me, and you can see I’m really scared. There’s no faking it. I didn’t want to do it, but I ended up doing it, and it came out great. But at the same time, that was the only one where I was like, “I don’t know about this.”
ESPN: So if you’re scared of heights, how do you do ladder matches?
John Cena: I try to stay on the ground as much as I can and only climb that ladder when I need to grab the championship.
ESPN: When you were first starting in the wrestling business, what was your dream? Did you expect the championships and movies and action figures and video games, or were you just hoping to get in WWE and maybe one day win the Intercontinental title one day?
John Cena: No, no, my goal going into this business still hasn’t changed, and that’s to expand this business. And I think with everything that’s happened, the coming and going of championships and the different movies and all the different media outlets, I just want to increase our awareness. That’s my goal since I got here, and it’s what kept me going. Because if your goal is to just win a championship, then once that happens, you might have a lull where you don’t know what to do next. I just want to let people know that we have the greatest show on Earth.
ESPN: Similar to sports where some guys are just happy to get in the league …
John Cena: And other guys want to run it.
ESPN: You want to run the league?
John Cena: I’m trying.
ESPN: You get to do so much from going overseas and wrestling for the troops to doing Make-A-Wish visits. What’s the coolest thing about being a WWE star that you didn’t expect to experience going in?
John Cena: The coolest thing to me, and especially now that our program is PG-friendly, and we advertise that to the hilt, but fathers and mothers come up to me and tell me to keep doing what I’m doing because I’m a good role model for their kids. The parents will give me the endorsement of, “You know what, my kid thinks a lot of things are cool, but this is one of the things that he thinks is cool that I’m really OK with because you’re a good, positive role model.” Honestly, you have no idea what that means to me. In this day and age, there have been some people in high-profile positions who maybe aren’t good with the fans or make bad career decisions. They just don’t realize that a lot of people are watching.
ESPN: When you guys go out and perform, there are always a bunch of athletes sitting ringside. What athlete would you say is the biggest WWE fan?
John Cena: The biggest, both spiritwise and framewise, has been Shaquille O’Neal. He’s awesome, man. He comes to the events as a fan and has such a good time. He’s just there to have fun with his kids, and he’s a perfect guy to have there at “Monday Night Raw.”
ESPN: Shaq would make a perfect wrestler.
John Cena: I actually think he’d make a great wrestler. Before it’s all said and done with him, I’d love to get him in the ring.
ESPN: One of the perks of being John Cena is getting your face on the cover of the new “WWE Smackdown vs. Raw 2010″ video game. The game this year has a lot to do with character development. What do you consider the biggest change to your character over the last couple of years?
John Cena: I’ve been able to be much more of myself. I came onto the scene as a trash talking, braggadocios street thug from West Newbury (Mass.), and those are certain facets of my personality. You often hear when you talk to guys in our industry, that this is my personality, I just turn the volume up, but over the years, I’ve really become me. No volume turned up, no nothing. I’ve been able to go out there and just be myself. It’s through solid performance after solid performance that people just take you for who you are. That’s why I have so much fun and I’m so relaxed at these events, because I don’t need to do anything to get in that mode, and I don’t have any prematch rituals. I just go through that curtain, and people get what they get.
ESPN: Would you like to turn heel again in the future?
John Cena: That’s the thing, I’m one of those guys who on any given day can be booed out of any building. I’m the only guy who is neither a good guy or a bad guy. That’s because I’m genuinely myself. Certainly, guys in our industry try to sway the audience one way or the other, but like I said, I go out there and I’m me. I have certain things that I stand for, certain things that I believe in, and if you don’t like it and you tell me to go to hell, I think that’s your God-given right as a fan. It’s one of those deals where I’m that one guy who is outside of that realm of good guy, bad guy. I’m just me, and it elicits a response both positive and negative.
ESPN: You were recently thrown through a spotlight on pay-per-view. The visuals were amazing, but how real was that spotlight?
John Cena: It was completely real. I thought I broke my tailbone. I had spinal-fusion surgery on my neck a while back, and I actually had to get an MRI on both my hips and spine and also my neck. I thought my surgery had come undone. That was about as real as it gets. That one was tough for me. I still kept keeping on, and I didn’t miss any shows, but I was walking very gingerly for quite some time.
ESPN: That was crazier than any stunt you did in the movie?
John Cena: Yeah, and that’s why the physicality in “12 Rounds” or the stunt work in “12 Rounds,” I’m OK with that because I do it for a living. But man, there are just some that hurt more than others, and that was one.
ESPN: When you look at the Raw roster and you look at WWE, who are some of the young guys you look at as really having a chance to be big stars?
John Cena: Now is a really good time because since the inception of WWE, there has always been that one, this is the guy. But now, you have a lot of possibilities, guys like Ted DiBiase Jr., The Miz, Cody Rhodes, Kofi Kingston and even a guy like MVP. These are guys who are all on the cusp. For the first time, we have all these guys who are ready to charge the gates and make a run to try and be the No. 1 guy on Raw.
ESPN: What do you think of The Miz coming out and insulting you, using a lot of what is said on different message boards and various wrestling sites to put you down?
John Cena: I knew a young gentleman quite a long time ago who was insulting people just as bad and lit up those message boards the same way he did. I actually said it on television a couple of weeks back, but there’s a part of me that respects what he’s doing because I was doing the same thing, but at the same time, I don’t know how he thinks with all the things I’ve had to put up with and persevere that one person is going to shake me down. I certainly respect what he’s doing, there ain’t nothing wrong with coming out and going for it, and eventually we’ll see if he’s ready. I had to come up the same way — fight, scratch and claw for everything and make as much noise as I could — and when it was time for me to go, I showed everyone I could go. That’s what it’s all about.
John Cena was recently interviewed by ESPN.com to promote the Smackdown vs. RAW 2010 videogame and 12 Rounds on DVD. Here are some highlights:
On if he would like to turn heel: That's the thing, I'm one of those guys who on any given day can be booed out of any building. I'm the only guy who is neither a good guy or a bad guy. That's because I'm genuinely myself. Certainly, guys in our industry try to sway the audience one way or the other, but like I said, I go out there and I'm me. I have certain things that I stand for, certain things that I believe in, and if you don't like it and you tell me to go to hell, I think that's your God-given right as a fan. It's one of those deals where I'm that one guy who is outside of that realm of good guy, bad guy. I'm just me, and it elicits a response both positive and negative.
Who he sees as the stars of the future: Now is a really good time because since the inception of WWE, there has always been that one, this is the guy.

What’s a birthday without a party? Ask Sean and Neil Nathan. After learning that children at the homeless shelter never had a birthday parties, the brothers began raising money and organizing monthly celebrations for their less fortunate peers. WWE, in turn, is celebrating the young Louisiana pair as July’s WWE Community Champions. (WATCH: Tommy Dreamer's message) The first party plan was devised by Sean, now 14, and Neil, now 11, in December of 2006. “We couldn’t believe he’d never had one,” Neil added. “So we went home and talked to our mom about throwing him a party and that’s how it all began.” Before long, the small to-do in Shreveport became monthly events dubbed the Providence House Birthday Bash — filled with hours of food, music and games. To raise money to cover the costs, Sean and Neil perform the violin and cello, respectively, at local dinners and ceremonies. This month, WWE surprised the boys and girls with birthday gifts from all the WWE Superstars. John Cena, Batista, Chris Jericho and Randy Orton autographed T-shirts and action figures for the children. So what motivates these brothers to continue making a difference? “After the first party,” Sean explained, “a Mom wrote me a letter saying she cried when she saw her children having so much fun at their first birthday party. That was inspiring.” “It’s enjoyable for me,” Neil said. “I get a good feeling knowing I’m helping kids out and giving them something special they wouldn’t have had.” The brothers received a special gift this year, too. The U.S. Chamber of Commerce named Sean, on behalf of the duo, one of the top 10 youth volunteers in the nation. On May 3, he was presented the Prudential Spirit of Community Award by Former First Lady Laura Bush. "One of the greatest privileges [of being in Washington] was meeting the thousands of citizens across our country, from all walks of life, who dedicate their talents, time and energy to serving others,” Bush said in her speech. She lauded Sean, and his fellow honorees, as creative innovators and continued. “Thank you, Sean, for making children feel as special as they should on their birthday,” the former First Lady said. “Thanks to all of you who work to make people around you feel appreciated and loved.” We agree! Sean and Neil, you are true Community Champions. If someone you know is getting involved and making a difference in your community, nominate them as a WWE Community Champion at communitychampions@wwe.com.
“My brother and I were playing Christmas carols at the Providence House,” the center for homeless families in their hometown of Shreveport, La., Sean said, “and afterward I was talking to one of the kids about my upcoming birthday. He said he wished he could have a birthday party.”

In both religion and ancient forms of magic, there has always been mystical strength and intensity surrounding the “Power of Three,” a triad of influences and reverence.
At Night of Champions, the Power of Three will also be on prominent display as a triumvirate of headstrong Superstars – WWE Champion Randy Orton, John Cena and Triple H – clash for the most coveted title in all of WWE.
The history simmering between Orton and Triple H has been well-documented and has lately boiled over into a deep, personal cruelty. For months, The Viper targeted Triple H and his family, including wife Stephanie McMahon, until finally he punted The Game in the skull, leaving his nemesis incapacitated for months.
The recent return of The King of Kings to Raw shocked everyone, including the WWE Champion, who found himself on the punishing end of Triple H’s vengeance – and a steel chair.
While the animosity between Orton and Triple H will unquestionably hang foul in the air, how might the inclusion of Cena affect the dynamic of the match? Cena has dealt with The Viper on several occasions but has only faced The Game one-on-one three times, resulting in one win, one loss and, most recently, a double disqualification. One hint may be found in the Triple Threat Match from WrestleMania XXIV, during which Cena, Triple H and then-WWE Champion Orton clashed.
It was toward the end of that match when Triple H and Cena traded heavy-fisted blows until finally The Game was able to administer a devastating Pedigree. Just when it appeared that The King of Kings would emerge with the gold, however, The Viper struck, punting The Cerebral Assassin squarely in the temple and quickly slithering atop Cena for the three-count to retain.
While two Superstars left empty-handed that night, there’s little doubt that both Triple H and Cena will do everything in their respective power to prevent a repeat performance. How they plan to achieve that is anyone’s guess. After all, each man prides himself on the ability to tackle challenges on their own, having proven that they’re their own men, prepared to plow through any Superstar, friend or foe, to capture gold again.
Will an intense focus of Orton and The Game on one another allow Cena to capitalize? Can Orton once again find the cunning enough to retain his precious gold? Will Orton’s Legacy henchmen play a role? Will Triple H and Cena find common cause to eliminate The Viper?
To find out the answers to these questions, catch all the action on the pay-per-view or Direct Webcast on July 26, 8 p.m. ET / 7 p.m. CT.

Triple H vs. John Cena ended in a double disqualification after Rhodes & DiBiase interfered; Million Dollar Man calls a WWE Triple Threat Title Match for Night of Champions with Orton vs. Triple H vs. John Cena
Saying something does not make it so. If only that were true, WWE Champion Randy Orton would have been one happy man after the Night of Champions Tournament final. The match pitted Triple H against John Cena – in only their third-ever bout against each other – to determine which Superstar would face Orton for the title in three weeks. The momentum between these two warriors ebbed and flowed throughout the match until, battle-weary, they were attacked by Orton’s Legacy henchmen, Cody Rhodes & Ted DiBiase. With both The Game and Cena each having won a match in their two previous encounters, their third-ever match would end in a double disqualification.
That’s when The Viper smugly attempted to tell the WWE Universe that, since there was no winner, he would have to face neither man at Night of Champions. His self-satisfaction was cut off at the knees, however, when The Million Dollar Man, interrupted him with a different interpretation of events. Raw’s special guest host informed Orton that, the way he saw things, neither man lost. Therefore, each would be allowed to compete for the WWE Championship at Night of Champions in a Triple Threat Match.
IT has to be said that these days too many WWE wrestlers pass their entire careers without learning the craft of world class mat technicians.
Instead, they become ego-inflated toy adverts.
Looking at the Bash and RAW this week, FT was moved for the first time in a while to cast an eye over the state of the world’s wrestling leader.
There is excellence – largely to be found on the Smackdown brand – in the form of the new tag champions Edge and Chris Jericho.
The pair are the standard for the entire roster.
Jericho’s recent run against Rey Mysterio has been sensational.
They saved the PPV at the weekend and the Canadian is certainly in line for Wrestler Of The Year once again.
Edge is hurting and needs a rest so the tag straps will allow him to take a load off – well at least of sorts.
Maybe the tag titles might begin to mean something once again in the hands of the best heels in the business.
In passing we must mention Christian Cage, who remains on ECW, head in hands, much to the chagrin of fans clamouring for a Brood reunion.
The week-long Trump experiment was an unqualified success in terms of ratings, but you can’t have a commercial-free show every week and all of WWE’s thought is bent on finding a long-term cash cow.
Bad attitude is the key. Wrestling isn’t just for kids – RAW seems like a playgroup product at present which is stunting the growth of the key young players.
Randy Orton is an excellent performer, but he’s running out of rope if he has to keep working with Triple H.
Mark Henry is not the answer, in case you were wondering.
Recent moves to elevate John Morrison and CM Punk are in the right direction.
FT isn’t the biggest fan of Miz, but his being squashed under Mr Cena merely re-affirmed a rather dull status quo at the top.
Frankly, it could have been anyone.
Fans of my ilk are crying out for the quality of match and depth of character which snared us into wrestling in the first place.
Looking at the Mania DVD this week, the single standout affair on show was Shawn Michaels and Undertaker.
HBK is on a well-earned sabbatical and Taker is on crutches after hip and knee surgery.
WWE cannot keep going to the well with the vets. Some young phoenix must rise from the flames.
With CM Punk on top on Smackdown and Edge and Jericho ostensibly occupied elsewhere, he should get a decent run. Orton is doing a great job but desperately needs fresh opponents.
Now is the time for genuine booking bravery, otherwise it is likely that the 18-40 demographic will switch off and not come back from MMA.
RAW has become stale and the pointless ECW should be absorbed into one or other of the bigger brands.
Smackdown has the promise of dynamics under an enigmatic young champion, but it’s the perceptual second string in the eyes of many fans.

Kylie Northover speaks to John Cena, five-time winner of a muscle-bound contest that has no qualms about putting entertainment before sport. WHEN it comes to pro wrestling, you’re either a devoted fan or indifferent; there is no in-between.Non-fans, for example, may have missed the fact World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE), the world’s largest pro wrestling company, regularly tours Australia “playing” to packed-out stadiums; in 2007 they broke wrestling attendance records at Rod Laver Arena with a crowd of more than 15,000 fans.
For the uninitiated, WWE is a hybrid of sport and theatre; of hulking musclemen and women and outrageous theatrics.
Matches are “simulated”, which means outcomes are fixed and all moves highly choreographed and all involved — the wrestlers, their promoters and even the excitable ringside announcers — are players in a high-camp soap opera of intricate plot lines involving feuds, fights, adultery and even the occasional love child.
It’s a buffed-up pantomime — and a billon-dollar global enterprise, with profitable internet, television, live event, film, music and product licensing concerns.
The company started in the 1960s but it wasn’t until the 1980s that the entertainment element was emphasised above the sporting prowess, with astonishing results. At its peak, some 12 million US viewers watched the weekly televised matches, and the program spawned several superstars — even the indifferent will likely have heard the names Hulk Hogan, Jesse Ventura, Andre the Giant and The Rock.
Today, the biggest name in the ring is John Cena, “Dr of Thuganomics”, and five-time world champion and two-time tag-team champion (it’s best not to question the logic of championship status in a league where matches are staged).
In Melbourne this week for a performance at Rod Laver Arena, Cena been a pro wrestler for eight years and, like most of the current generation of wrestlers, grew up watching WWE.
“I was a huge fan as a kid,” Cena, 32, says.
“Without a doubt Hulk Hogan is my favourite WWE superstar of all time. I grew up watching guys like him and Ultimate Warrior and … guys like Shawn Michaels who are still in the business, and now I have matches against him. Talk about a dream come true.”
Cena had always been athletic — he was a college footballer in Massachusetts, where he earned a degree in exercise physiology, before pursuing a career in bodybuilding — but says he got into the game somewhat by accident.
“I was working at a gym when I met a wrestler-in-training who encouraged me to go into training,” he explains. “I gave it a go and I was immediately hooked. I made my debut in June 2002.”
Although WWE’s storylines are scripted, wrestlers need to endear themselves to the fans, and by 2005 Cena had developed a following, thanks to his habit of inserting freestyle rapping into the obligatory “feuds” with other wrestlers.
In 2005 he released his debut album, You Can’t See Me (featuring his own WWE entrance theme The Time Is Now) which debuted at No. 15 on the US charts, and helped Cena become the first wrestler to perform on the BBC’s Top of the Pops.
He’s also taken his acting outside the ring, having starred in two films — 2006’s The Marine and this year’s 12 Rounds, by Speed and Die Hard 2 director Renny Harlin.
Cena plays a police detective trying to save his girlfriend, who has been kidnapped by an ex-con.
“It’s a real action movie and I think people are going to really enjoy it,” he says.
The move from the ring to filmmaking, he says, isn’t such a stretch. “We are episodic television, man,” he says.
“We tell stories; it’s the same thing as a movie. We make mini-movies every week. You have to realise there’s no live audience there and be a little bit more reserved in your actions.”
One would hope so, given his WWE actions include the “double leg spinebuster” and the “killswitch”.
Even if his film career takes off, Cena plans to maintain his pro wrestling status as long as possible. “If you asked me where I’d be in 10 years, I’d say promoting another film and looking forward to the next Wrestlemania.”
Cena’s desire to remain in wrestling separates him from former wrestler-turned-actor The Rock (Dwayne Johnson), who has distanced himself from the scene since becoming an action star. Is it true that Cena recently challenged The Rock to step back in the ring?
“I didn’t lay down a challenge as such. I just felt that he could give something back to the WWE fans,” Cena says.
“I thought The Rock was great. I’d love to see him back in the ring just like every other WWE fan would.”
His challenge, could, of course, be another scripted part of the WWE’s sprawling fictional universe. The universe which, says Cena, owes its success to telling the “age-old story of good versus bad”.
“It’s amazing that we’ve been so popular for so long. I think a part of it can be attributed to the fact that we appeal to people from all walks of life,” he says.
“WWE is the ultimate package — sports entertainment, I don’t think we’re more one than the other. We pride ourselves on being No. 1 in sports entertainment.”
John Cena appears as part of the WWE RAW Live Tour, Rod Laver Arena, tomorrow. He will also appear at JB Hi-Fi, HighPoint Shopping Centre, at 3pm, tomorrow.

John moved up one spot to number 4 this week:It will be Cena vs. Triple H for a chance to face Randy Orton for the WWE Title at Night of Champions, and with wins over The Miz at The Bash and on Raw, it certainly seems the momentum is with the former champ.

iNDEMAND has just released the promotional poster for WWE Summerslam which features John Cena.
“The Biggest Event of the Summer” will take place on August 23, 2009 at Staples Center in Los Angeles, California.

Triple H. John Cena. Both champions, in every sense of the word, though neither Superstar currently holds WWE’s ultimate prize. That may change starting Monday night, however, when the two battle on Raw to determine who will face WWE Champion Randy Orton at Night of Champions. As the final two participants to advance from last Monday’s four-man tournament, The Game and Cena have torn the WWE Universe’s loyalties in opposing directions regarding this match. And you can’t blame them; after all, neither Triple H nor the 12 Rounds star have established a history of dominance over the other. Each holds a victory in one-on-one competition, so Monday’s contest will serve as the ultimate in rubber matches. When it comes to wearing the gold, most Superstars in WWE can’t compare to a 13-time World Champion like Triple H. But even The King of Kings admitted to WWE.com’s Joey Styles following last Monday’s Raw that Cena is not most Superstars. “I’ve faced a lot of guys in the ring, but I’ve never seen anyone with a greater passion or work ethic for this business than Cena,” The Game said. “It still burns me that I underestimated him at WrestleMania 22, and it cost me the match.” Though Cena was WWE Champion heading into their April 2006 conflict in Chicago, he was also considered a heavy underdog against a Cerebral Assassin with 10 prior World Title reigns. Yet Cena never succumbed to the notion of being outmatched, even when Triple H had kicked out of his signature Attitude Adjustment – a feat that had been, and continues to be, Herculean in nature. Instead, he continued with the game plan that brought him to the big dance in Chi-town: perseverance and an unconquerable will to win. And, after countering a Pedigree with an STF that left Triple H no choice but to tap out, that’s exactly what Cena did. “Cena was one step ahead of me that night; I can’t deny it,” The Game recalled. “But like I showed him last year, I learn from my mistakes. And I don’t make them twice.” By last year, Triple H is referring to his second match with Cena – fittingly, at Night of Champions. And in the weeks building toward their June 2008 rematch, it was The King of Kings wearing the gold and insisting that Cena would never be good as him. By that point, Cena could no longer be considered an automatic “underdog,” yet even he had to tip a “U Can’t C Me” cap to The Game, who withstood the STF and fought his way out before hitting the Pedigree for the win. “We don’t really see eye-to-eye, probably because we’re similar in the ways that matter most in the ring. But I give him a lot of credit,” Cena told Joey Styles of his opponent last Monday following Raw. “Beating guys like The Rock, Big Show, Chris Jericho, Randy Orton … Triple H has worn the WWE Title more than anyone else in history [eight times]. You can just see it with every breath he takes: He lives to be champion.” As much as Cena respects The Game, however, he’s not quite ready to acknowledge him as Randy Orton’s opponent for this year’s Night of Champions. “That No. 1 contender’s spot is mine,” he emphatically declared. “I’ll go through whoever I have to, do whatever I’ve got to do, to win back the WWE Title. If that means going through Triple H on Raw, then that’s exactly how it’s going to be.” The Game, however, looks to the future with an equally vigorous, converse perspective. “Cena, you’re a top-notch athlete, you’re freakishly strong and you know how to get the job done against most guys in the ring,” Triple H said. “But I’m not most guys. I’m the guy. And I’m the guy who’s going to Night of Champions, beating Orton and taking back what belongs to me.”

Nothing major in this post, but still, it recognizes Cena’s accomplishment:
Today (June 27th) marks John Cena’s 7th year in WWE. All the way from his debut (where he faced off against Kurt Angle) to now, having 5 major titles (2x World Heavyweight Championships and 3x WWE Championships), John Cena certainly has come a long way. From being the “green” wrestler in the locker-room, he is now valued as the “face of the WWE.”
I wish John all the best (for his life and his WWE career] and, hopefully he can have an even longer tenure with the WWE.
John Cena remained at number 5 in the Power 25 this week:Cena may have lost his match on Raw, thanks to Big Show getting a helping hand, but perhaps now The World’s Largest Athlete will leave him alone and Cena will be able to focus on shutting up The Miz.
John Cena appeared on the Bubba The Love Sponge Show on SIRIUS Satellite Radio today and confirmed he's getting married soon. Cena said he will be marrying his "high school sweetheart" in the near future, but did not reveal a date. Bubba gave him a hard time about this being another example of Cena "being perfect," with him responding: "I've got a good gig, man. Why would I screw it up?"
Cena also said he's looking over movie scripts and hopes to shoot something this fall. He said WWE's audience is changing due to the move to PG-rated programming and hopes to do a PG movie so all of his fans can see the film.
Cena also noted Undertaker runs the locker room and hyped the DVD release of 12 Rounds on June 30th. (source: prowrestling.NET)
Cena drops a few spots this week after coming up short both in the WWE Title Fatal Four Way Match and then the Battle Royal main event to become the No. 1 contender to Randy Orton’s title.
John ranked in at number 2 this week. Thanks to a modified STF, John Cena once again defied all odds and did the seemingly impossible by making Big Show tap out in the center of the ring. Is there anything that this Superstar can't do?
John remained at number 4 in the Power 25 this week:So far, Cena has not been able to lock the STF on Big Show, leaving us to wonder whether or not he will be capable of defeating The World’s Largest Athlete in the Submission Match at Extreme Rules.
There is currently a rumor making the rounds on other sites that John Cena got married this past weekend. In fact, it wasn't Cena who got married, but it was his brother Matt.
We met WWE World Heavyweight wrestling champion and actor John Cena while he was in New York recently.
Why do you like wrestling?
I love it because I get to be athletic and at the same time it is very very exciting. If you have ever been to a WWE event the fans get very, very excited. I like that.
Was beating Edge hard?
It always is because he always seems to find some way to win. Even when he loses, he seems to win.
Who is your best friend in the WWE?
My best friend from WWE is Santino. He is the funniest guy because he is such an idiot. He is cool to hang around with and we hang around a lot.
Which do you like better wrestling or acting?
I like them both. The reward is kind of different. With a movie, it takes like eight months to make the movie so you dont see a reward until eight months later and you totally kind of forget about it. With wrestling, the second you walk through the curtain people are going bananas so you are immediately satisfied with wrestling. But the movie is equally as satisfying it just takes a little longer.
What do you like to do in your spare time?
I am trying to learn how to fish, but I am not very good at it. The fish like me when they see me coming to the pond because I don’t catch anything. I also like to work on old cars. Besides that, just hang out at the house with my dog. I got a little mini schnauzer.
What is your exercise program and how did you get so big?
I have been lifting weights for quite a long time, since I was 12 years old. I even went to college to learn how to lift weights better. I have a degree in exercise science, which is pretty much learning the human body and learning how to make it stronger and make athletes better. I used what I learned in school to better my career. Right now my exercise program is pretty much that of an NFL athlete. I do a lot of multi-joint movements, a lot of stability and agility drills, some sprinting mixed in. But I just try to remain as strong as I can.
How do you get all your fans to like you?
Well, I don’t force them to choose. I be myself, and I am very very honest with them. I never say anything I dont mean. I let them make up their own mind. A lot of them like me and a lot of them don’t like me, but I dont get mad at the ones who dont like me. I like doing what I do.
How come you started acting?
It was kind of what we do in wrestling. You gotta be strong and you gotta be physical, but at the same time you gotta have fun and you gotta entertain. Everybody kind of saw me doing my thing in the wrestling ring and they said hey man why don’t you try this acting deal out. At first I didnt know if I would like it or not, but I did a movie and I really liked it.
What is it like being famous?
I don’t consider myself there yet, but it sure is busy. But it’s also cool, I get to do cool stuff like this. I get to do a lot of stuff that I never dreamed would happen. I certainly appreciate all that has happened.
Who is your favorite wrestler?
Favorite wrestler of all time is Hulk Hogan. Since I was a little kid I have had a lot more favorites for a lot of different reasons, but the No. 1 guy of all time is Hulk Hogan.
How tall are you?
I am 6 feet. And if I wear cool shoes, I am maybe 6′ 1″.
Why do you want to do a movie?
Movies are fun. It is kind of what we do in the WWE. We kind of make mini movies. When I get the chance to do a full-length feature film, I draw on my experiences from the WWE. I enjoy them a lot and I wanted to see if it was the same kind of fun. They certainly don’t have 20,000 fans screaming on a movie set, but once you see the finished product when the movie is over, it is really cool to be a part of it.
Is John Cena your real name and do you have a nickname?
John Cena is my real name. I have not been one for nicknames. If you were to give me a nickname what would it be?
Cena? That kind of works. Everybody just calls me Cena. JC works.
What was the most challenging match you ever fought?
It would be the Heartbreak Kid Shawn Michaels, Wrestlemania 23, or Triple H, Wrestlemania 22. Those are the two toughest matches I’ve ever had.
This isn’t confirmed but it sounds like John Cena got married to his fiancee over the weekend. Fans were told at the RAW live event on Saturday night in Mexico City that Cena would not be there because it was his wedding day. Cena confirmed he was engaged and was planning to wed later this year while promoting his movie 12 Rounds earlier this year. Source: impactwrestling

John ranked in at number 4 this week, moving up two spots from his place at number 6 last week.
Thanks to a victory over Ted DiBiase on “WWE Superstars” and a stellar performance in Raw’s “WWE Playoffs,” Cena continues to gain momentum. Is the top spot in his future?
Cena: Our critics are ignorant
JOHN CENA is a man who is used to being booed, when he doesn’t deserve to be.
Arguably the hardest working man in wrestling, the multi-time WWE world champion is frequently met with catcalls as he walks to the ring despite his obvious talents and improving wrestling skills. Now this cynicism has followed him to the movie world. His latest WWE Films-produced flick, 12 Rounds, was dismissed by many who have not even seen the film, because its string of predecessors have been flops. But Cena, as ever, is unperturbed.
In an exclusive interview, he told SunSport: “I’ve had to fight that battle my entire career.
“Vince McMahon has been fighting that battle since he took the company global. It’s personal ignorance.
“People don’t know how good we are as entertainers. They don’t know how good we are as people in the media.
“The only way we can silence those voices is by putting together a good product.
“We’ve done that with 12 Rounds.”
And he’s not exaggerating. Released later this month, it really is a genuinely good product that is fast paced and entertaining throughout.
It does admittedly borrow heavily from Die Hard and similar movies, but that does not prevent it from being a more than pleasant way to spend an hour and a half.
Cena stars as hero Danny Fisher who is attempting to rescue his girlfriend Molly, played by Ashley Scott, from the evil clutches of on-the-run con Miles Jackson (Aiden Gillen).
Cena is plenty believable as the dogged hero fighting for his girl. Clichéd though the plot may be, it does continue to move effectively forward.
Much of this is due to Gillen, who gives a virtuoso performance as the movie’s unflustered villain.
Indeed, so good is Gillen, we couldn’t help but feel that instinct would once again push some to think Cena should be the heel in this scenario.
You see, even in a brief review one cannot help but allude back to wrestling.
This is a tag which Dwayne Johnson, formerly known as The Rock, has been keen to shrug off. Cena is in no such hurry.
He said: “You need to know that I’m not leaving the ring.
“In WWE, there’s a lot of folks who like me and a lot who don’t, and those that don’t are just waiting for me to leave.
“What gets to me is people questioning my resolve. People who think I’m in WWE as a stepping stone and don’t think I’m telling the truth.
“The only thing I can do is keep doing what I’m doing.”
In February last year, John caused a global storm after criticising The Rock on The Sun’s WrestleCast for saying he loved the business but then leaving and not giving back.
And, despite praising his rival personally, John is still not backing down.
He admits: “Rock’s a hardworking guy, he’s a great guy.
“I’m just speaking as a selfish wrestling fan. The same kind of selfish wrestling fan who would boo me for whatever reason.
“Selfishly, I miss him in the ring. I wish he would come back. He is physically in his prime. One of the greatest sports entertainers we’ve ever had. But he’s an actor now.
“The trouble is, here I am telling everybody I love the business - it’s the same thing Rock said then went out and made movies.
“He’s basically made my life tougher.
“I’d love to have him back. I’d love to have a WrestleMania match with him - maybe next year.
“I would love that. That would be great.”
It’s clear that Cena is what he says he is - a fan of the wrestling business, not just a participant.
Someone he admires, and who has also made the transition to the big screen, is Stone Cold Steve Austin.
Austin was inducted into the 2009 class of WWE’s Hall of Fame, and after his speech toasted John Cena with a beer.
An act seen by many as a symbolic passing of the torch from one wrestling icon to another.
Did Cena revel in the moment?
“Oh, man, are you kidding me,” he replies.
“Not just the biggest star of our era, but the biggest star of all time.
“Steve is unique, has so much talent. There’s a guy who would be in the ring tomorrow if he could, but he physically cannot.
“It was a great moment, a great surprise. It made the Hall of Fame that much more special for me.
“I was just disappointed that I got my suit and tie covered in beer.”
Barring any unforeseen injuries such as we saw with the Texas Rattlesnake, it is clear John Cena’s intentions are to continue to try to entertain people on two fronts.
Some will love him and some will hate him, but don’t expect to see John Cena leaving the wrestling ring or your cinema screens anytime soon.
How he keeps up his punishing schedule is beyond us, but he has an idea.
As we part company, Cena says: “I’m going to have to petition for more hours in the day!”
Something tells me he’s not joking.
John Cena moved up one spot in the WWE Power 25 this week, ending up at number 6:Cena beat Big Show at Judgment Day after an Attitude Adjustment, but failed several times to lock in the STF. That does not bode well, since they will have a rematch at Extreme Rules in a Submission Match.
The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that a WWE creative team member recently pitched a John Cena heel turn. Reports indicate that WWE Chairman Vince McMahon did not take too well to the suggestion.
According to sources aware of the meeting, McMahon apparently "lit the guy up" about the suggestion, noting that it was "foolishly short-sighted."
Much of the creative staff reportedly agreed with McMahon, believing that Cena's merchandise sales as a babyface are too strong to risk for the short-term benefits of a heel turn. At the same time, some told the Observer that they do wish the idea was treated with more respect, as outright dismissal of ideas is not considered constructive to the workflow.

John Cena thought his bitter rivalry with Big Show ended when he delivered an Attitude Adjustment to the giant and pinned him at Judgment Day. But the 7-footer had other ideas.
The World’s Largest Athlete’s massive ego and vindictive streak just won’t let him accept defeat at the hands of Cena. That’s why, thanks to Show’s powerful business associate, Raw General Manager Vickie Guerrero, a rematch between the two Superstars has been set for Extreme Rules — and this time it’s a Submission Match.
Clearly, it’s a stipulation that was chosen carefully by the sadistic behemoth. Twice during their encounter at Judgment Day, Cena attempted to apply his STF submission hold to the mammoth Superstar, but he simply couldn’t get his arms around Big Show’s 485-pound frame to lock the hold in properly. Sensing that he disarmed one of the most devastating moves in Cena’s arsenal, The World’s Largest Athlete sees a huge opportunity to defeat his nemesis in a match where making him tap out is the only path to victory.
Granted, Big Show is more feared for his raw power than his technical skill, but that doesn’t mean he can’t take advantage of the situation. Although Cena has looked healthy in recent weeks, his back and ribs may still be vulnerable from Backlash, when Big Show chokeslammed him through a 7,000-watt searchlight. If this incident is still affecting Cena, a simple Camel Clutch or Boston Crab from the goliath could spell doom for the wildly popular Superstar.
Whether or not Cena will be 100 percent for Extreme Rules is still unclear, but rest assured, when the heart and tenacity of John Cena collides with the mass and brutality of Big Show, the WWE Universe can expect an all-out war.

Cena helps Batista & Flair agaisnt Legacy
Orton said he wanted Flair to give Batista a message for him. He punched Flair and then began stomping on him. Cody Rhodes and Ted DiBiase walked out. Batista jumped them from behind, then slipped into the ring. Orton stomped on him and Legacy triple-teamed him. Orton shifted over to Flair and punched away at him. John Cena then ran out and made the save, going right at Orton. Legacy bailed out quickly. Batista and Cena checked on Flair, who made it to his feet after about 30 seconds.
Josh Matthews interviewed Cena backstage, asking why he interjected himself in that situation earlier. He talked about silencing critics by beating The Big Show. He said he wants his followers to realize with pride he will not let them down. He said it’s time for it to be said that the best man should win. He said he doesn’t care whether Orton or Batista wins, “because it’s only a matter of time before the Champ is Here!” Vickie walked up to him and said based on what she just saw, she’s booking tonight’s main event: Cena & Batista vs. Legacy. Cena reacted with over-the-top sarcasm and then said, “I’m just kidding. I love it.”
The Miz Challenges Cena Again; Big Show announces a Submission Match with Cena at Extreme Rules
The Miz walked to the ring wearing Cena’s “HLA” t-shirt and hat. He said Cena still won’t come out and face him despite his being 4-0 against him The crowd chanted “You suck! You suck!” He said, “Haven’t heard that one before.” He said he made a remix of the old “Word Life” rap song he did. He said he calls it “Nerd Life.” He said: “Yo, Cena was first in line to see Star Trek the movie. The dude was 25 before he even touched a booby.” He went on and on with lines such as, “He’s the Steve Erkel of handsome.” He went Carrot Top and pulled out some toilet paper with Cena’s face on it. He said he’s not from the streets, he drives a “soccer mom van.” He said while he dates girls who look kind of funny, The Miz is dating Playboy Bunnies. And on and on. He called out Cena and said said, “Quit trying to stall because you’re looking at the new face of Monday Night Raw.” Cena didn’t answer, so he said he is now 5-0 against Cena. He said Cena is dead like a possum and he’s awesome.
Lawler had enough and stepped into the ring. He said he has a news flash for him. He said with that rap he’s doing, the commercials are doing better ratings than they are. He said just because he called someone out and they don’t come out, that doesn’t mean you get a victory over them. Lawler said if he’s confused, he’d give him an example. Lawler called out Batista. Batista didn’t reply. Lawler said since Batista didn’t show up, that doesn’t make him 1-0 against Batista. He then called out Bruno Sammartino and Hulk Hogan and “Stone Cold” Steve Austin. He said he wants a three-on-one handicapped match against them. They didn’t reply. Lawler said Miz’s logic is messed up and he’s just talking out of his rear end. He told Miz to go ask Vickie for a match against Cena. Miz said Lawler talks out of his rear end every week on commentary. The Big Show’s music then played and he walked out onto the stage.
John Cena & Batista def. Randy Orton & Legacy
Cena started with a collar-and-elbow tie-up with Cody, then Orton tagged in. Cena tried to make a quick tag to Batista, but Orton went right over to his corner to make a tag to DiBiase. Nice heel move. Batista and Cena then double-clotheslined Legacy over the top rope. Orton slithered into the ring from behind as the audience screamed in horror, but Cena and Batista turned around to slowly scare Orton out of the ring. Orton did his snake-like glare toward the babyfaces as they cut to break. Hot main event.
[Commercial Break]
Back from break, Orton was working on Batista on the floor before he rolled him back into the ring. Orton did the Orton Stomp as crowd was red-hot with a “Batista” chant. DiBiase cut Batista off with a drop toehold before landing a series of elbow drops for another two count. Cole and Ross talked up Rhodes & DiBiase improving week by week as they hang around Orton. DiBiase and Batista then butted heads leading to the tease of a hot tag. Cena took the hot tag at 8:00 and exploded on Cody, who was the legal man. Cena did the You Can’t See Me in Orton’s direction before dropping the Shuffle on Cody. Cena wanted the FU and he delivered it, but Cody made a blind tag to Orton while on Cena’s shoulders. Orton came in and hammered away on Cena, who teetered on the middle rope before DiBiase kicked him in the head. Apparently didn’t quite have the Orton finesse to KO Cena for five weeks. He’ll learn.
[Q9 -- over-run]
Match continued with Legacy cornering Cena and cutting him off from the hot tag. Fans did a “Let’s Go Cena” chant, but there was no dueling “Cena Sucks” echo this week. DiBiase kept working on Cena before bringing Cody back in. Soccer Dad Orton shouted instructions to Cody to maintain control. “Don’t let him breathe!” Cody tried a top rope moonsault and he connected. Whoa. He made a cover, but Cena kicked out. Orton then took a tag and kicked Cena in the gut to work him over. Cena tried to make a comeback, but Orton cut him right off with a clothesline.
At 13:00, Orton slapped on a standing headlock to wear down Cena. Cena tried to drag himself over to Batista and he finally reached out and touched Batista to get Batista his target of Orton for revenge from last night. Crowd exploded as Batista went after Orton. Meanwhile, Cena cut off Big Show on the entrance ramp and knocked him to the back with a chair. Batista cleared Cody and Ted. Suddenly, Ric Flair showed up off camera and shoved Cody off the top turnbuckle. It looked like Cody just kind of fell down. They cut to a shot of Flair to show why Cody fell off the top. Batista then found Orton and gave him a mid-ring spear. Batista made the cover for the win.
Post-match: Batista and Flair celebrated while they replayed what the heck happened. Apparently Flair ran a chair down to Cena, who bashed Show and then Flair went to ringside to KO Cody. Flair and Batista celebrated one more time in the ring while Legacy regrouped on the stage, not pleased with the finish.

WWE is promoting John Cena and Batista vs. Big Show and Randy Orton for the RAW June 8th live TV event. Monday Night RAW will be taking place in Lafayette, Louisiana in the Cajundome that night.

John Cena def. Big Show in 15:00
This match began two hours into the PPV, leaving nearly an hour for the last two matches. A loud “Cena sucks” chant competed with a “Let’s Go Cena” chant. The tone of the chants was as you’d expect, deep and high respectively. Show methodically clobbered Cena for the opening minutes. He threw him to ringside at 4:00. He picked him up and rammed him into the ringpost belly-first. At 7:00 Show locked on a bear hug. The announcers discussed how Cena must not be 100 percent yet. Show even shouted that at Cena early in the match. Cena powered out of the bear hug. Show, though, splashed him in the corner. Cena made a full comeback at 10:00. He got a mixed reaction as he went into his “You can’t see me” routine. He hit Show with the five knuckles, but Show came back with a chokeslam attempt. Cena countered with a DDT, then went for an STF. Show was too big. Show got up and floored Cena with a punch to the face. Show dragged Cena into the corner and hit a corner swing splash for a two count at 11:00. When Show went for a second corner swing splash, Cena moved. He went for another STF, but again couldn’t reach around Show. Show kicked Cena off. Cena took a clumsy bump to the floor. Boy did that look silly. Not sure what Cena was going for there. Cena kicked Show in face and then hit a top rope guillotine legdrop. He went for the STF again, but Show elbowed out of the attempt. Show came back and dropped Cena face-first to the mat. Show waited patiently for Cena to stand. Cena used the ropes to get to his feet. As Show set up his KO punch, Cena surprised him by lifting him onto his shoulders and hitting the Attitude Adjuster for the win. Lawler and Cole went nuts for the move out of nowhere. Lawler said it was as impressive a move as he’s ever seen.

For months, John Cena and Big Show have been on a collision course, interfering in each other’s matches and costing one another championships and title opportunities. Now, the two Superstars will wage an all-out war at Judgment Day, in a confrontation that will no doubt prove to be as vicious as their rivalry has been.
The roots of this enmity can be traced back to the weeks leading up to the 25th Anniversary of WrestleMania. Originally, Big Show was set to challenge World Heavyweight Champion Edge one-on-one for his title on The Grandest Stage of them All. That was until John Cena turned the bout into a Triple Threat Match after threatening to reveal General Manger Vickie Guerrero’s secret affair with the 7-footer. In the title match, Cena capitalized on his opportunity, delivering an Attitude Adjustment to Big Show and Edge at the same time before pinning the giant to win the World Heavyweight Championship.
This turn of events didn’t sit well with The World’s Largest Athlete, and he made his anger known at Backlash when he interjected himself into The Champ’s Last Man Standing Match against Edge. Just when it appeared that Cena would put The Rated-R Superstar away for good, Big Show stomped out and brutally chokeslammed Cena through a 7,000-watt searchlight. The ruthless attack cost Cena the match and the World Heavyweight Title, which Edge brought back with him to SmackDown.
The following Monday on Raw, Cena got some payback during Big Show and Batista’s No. 1 Contender’s Match for Randy Orton’s WWE Championship. Despite internal injuries suffered by the giant’s ruthless assault the previous night, Cena staggered onto the stage and lured the behemoth out of the ring, resulting in a count-out loss for the big man and a WWE Title opportunity for The Animal at Judgment Day. The short-tempered 485-pounder, enraged more than ever by the defeat, told Vickie Guerrero that he wants to end Cena’s career. Although Cena has not yet been cleared to compete, Guerrero assured the colossus he will have his opportunity at Judgment Day.
What will go down when the 12 Rounds star and The World’s Largest Athlete meet face-to-face in the squared circle? Will the sadistic Big Show deliver definitive punishment to the already-battered Cena, or can Cena muster the intestinal fortitude to give the giant the massive Attitude Adjustment he deserves?

Mickie on hanging with John:“I hang out with John. He’s a sweetheart, and he’s very personable,” James said. “He hangs out with everybody as well. Usually, he’s more laid back. He doesn’t really go to the clubs. It’s kind of hard for him to go out when you know you will get mobbed.“I can only imagine being on that level. When I go out, I get mini-mobbed, in comparison. I’ve seen him get attacked, and I’m like ‘Oh, my God, how does he deal with that?’ He can’t do anything, go to the beach and chill. But he’s cool. He’s awesome, a real good friend of mine. I love John to death.”
Bret Hart was recently interviewed by The UK Sun’s Wrestlecast. In the interview, he mentioned John being a “company guy”:
John Cena being a company guy:
“When Chris Benoit died he was on Larry King and somebody asked him if wrestlers need a union – and he shot that down and said ‘no’. The truth is only an idiot would say wrestlers don’t need a union, because we do! But it is hard not to take that company position and be a company guy when you’re on the team later. I was in his shoes and you try and do the best you can. As far as his career and how they’re using him – he’s better off working with them and doing everything the way he’s doing it.”

The Miz vs. John Cena
Vickie made an exhibition match between Cena and The Miz in a backstage segment. Cena makes his entrance, still showing signs of the previous attacks, and stares down the Big Show at ringside. Miz comes out and trash talks Cena some more. Cena started out the match strong, but The Miz soon took advantage of Cena’s injuries. Cena turns it around and was about to hoist Miz up for the Attitude Adjustment, but Vickie pops up on the titantron and stops the match. Cena is fed up, turns around, and gets caught in a DDT from The Miz. Miz walks off as Big Show stares down Cena from the outside.Cena was later shown walking in the backstage area. Josh Matthews caught up to get some of his thoughts about Judgment Day. Cena says he is banged up, but sometimes that happens and he will have to adapt and overcome. Josh asks about John’s condition to compete on Sunday, Cena responded saying that he is not walking into Judgment Day to compete, he’s going in to win.

The Miz challenges John Cena to a match; Cena is attacked by Big Show
After attacking Festus in the Superstar’s most helpless state, The Miz turned his sights on another ring warrior not in the best condition to defend himself: The injured John Cena. For the second week in a row, the self-proclaimed “future World Champion” called out the former World Heavyweight Champion, all the time tossing out cruel insults. But this week, to Miz’s surprise, Cena actually emerged, slowly making his way down the ramp to the ring. Before things could progress any further, however, Big Show made his entrance, attacking his Judgment Day opponent and locking him into a brutal submission maneuver, leaving the recuperating Superstar lying prone in the ring.

The Miz challenged Cena on Raw, but Cena didn’t answer his challenge. Miz declares himself the winner because Cena declined the challenge, which means he forfeits. Cena would make his presence known by distracting Big Show, costed him the #1 Contender Match agaisnt Batista and a title shot at Judgment Day. The show ends with Cena staring straight at Show while Big Show is enraged by the lost.

Edge def. John Cena to regain World Title
Edge put Cena in a sleeper, and attempted to win the match that way. Cena answered the count. On the outside, Edge went for a spear, but Cena moved and Edge speared the ring steps. Cena brought the ring steps into the ring, but Edge recovered and used them against Cena. Cena tossed the ring steps over the top rope into Edge, but Edge answered the count. A great series of counters. Cena locked on the STFU and Edge tapped, but of course, its last man standing rules. Spear by Edge, but both men lay flat on the mat.
Cena did an FU from the ropes. Edge recovered, and speared Cena in mid air. Cena gave Edge the attitude adjustment from the announce table into the crowd! Edge answered. Cena went after Edge into the concourse area and back into the arena. On the stage, Conchairto by Edge, but Cena barely answered. The Big Show came out and chokeslammed off the stage into the equipment and smoke shot off. Cena couldn’t answer the count, and Edge regained the World Heavyweight title at 28:24. As the PPV ended, they were placing Cena in a neckbrace onto a stretcher.
After Jim Ross & Todd Grisham show us the conchairto which leads to Grisham (wow he’s quick) interviewing John Cena. Cena excuses Grisham as he wants to get personal. He compares his feud with Edge to Yankees vs Red Socks. He talks about how this will be the last match with him and Edge, as the feud comes to an end. He’s serious and says only one will be the better man. When there will be only one man left standing.

Chris Jericho out. He’s saying bye and good riddance to RAW forever. Before he walks out, The Dragon - Ricky Steamboat comes out. He thanks Jericho for giving him back the feeling of the spotlight one more time and he now wants one more match. Jericho challenges him and before an answer is heard, John Cena comes out. Jericho stops Cena before he can say anything, says he’s walking out. Jericho is halfway down the ramp, as Steamboat says he accepts! Cena now begins talking, says Vickie Guerrero isnt there and that tonight he wont face Edge but Jericho instead.
Match Four: John Cena vs Chris Jericho [Double DQ] (16:28)
Its official: Ricky Steamboat vs Chris Jericho for Backlash. The London crowd is pretty heavily booing Cena at some points. The announcers play it off. Its pretty mixed at times. Jericho flips out of a Attitude Adjustment and nails the Code breaker. Only a two! Jericho went for another Code breaker but Cena finally got the Attitude Adjustment on Y2J and he only gets a two! Jericho locks the Walls Of Jericho on. Cena rolled through and gets his submission the STF on Jericho. I gets there’s no U in that move anymore. Looks like Cena was going for a suplex off the top rope but Edge throws both men off the turnbuckle. Edge spears Cena. He grabs two chairs, conchairto!?! He gets it, although from the first angle doesn’t look like he connected with Cena’s head at all. Edge grabs the mike and starts his own 10 count to show he’ll win at Backlash. Cena doesn’t get up. Sounds like the crowd liked it actually.
After being chokeslammed by Big Show into a spotlight and subsequently losing his gold to Edge as a result, we were amazed to see Cena walk out on Raw costing Big Show his match against Batista.

Elsewhere backstage: John Cena was talking to someone, then Jack Swagger interjected. Cena laughed at Swagger’s cockiness as Swagger cut his heel promo on Cena. Cena then asked for a formal introduction and they shook. Swagger reminded Cena that he’s the All-American American and Cena laughed at that notion. He said that’s ridiculous, but tonight is a chance for new beginnings and maybe Swagger should just go with “the All-American.” Or…even, the All-American jackass. Swagger wanted to go, but Cena told him he’s good, but he’s also a punk kid. Cena told Swagger he gets a lesson in respect tonight. A little foreshadowing for Swagger jumping to Raw?
4 — World Heavyweight champion JOHN CENA (Raw) vs. ECW champion JACK SWAGGER (ECW) — non-title Draft Match
Seems like a good set-up for Edge to cost Cena the match and give ECW some talent help. Match moved to the floor early on before returning to the ring where Swagger worked over Cena. Swagger nailed a hard clothesline mid-ring, then slapped on a full nelson. Cena broke the Masterlock, then charged at Swagger with shoulder tackles. He then wanted the Five Knuckle Shuffle on Swagger and he connected to Striker’s chagrin on commentary. Cena wanted to follow with the FU, but Swagger grabbed the top rope and nailed a boot that spun Cena to the mat. Definitely a “big match feel” as they cut to break with Swagger in control.
ESPN: The Magazine has an article on John Cena called “7 Things You Should Know About Being a WWE Superstar” in conjunction with the WWE segment on E:60 this Tuesday night. A few of the more interesting items in the article:
*1. Writers write, fighters fight.*
“I see myself as an actor, and I choose not to have much input in my story. So I find out only a few hours before the broadcast what will happen. The creative team doesn’t know inside-the-ring stuff, though. They tell us who’s going to win or be disqualified and we take it from there.”
*3. We’re more than just action figures.*
“I try to manage my likeness, but the WWE does a lot of licensing, so I end up seeing a lot of products that make me cringe. I’m all for merchandising, but John Cena car floor mats or nesting dolls don’t seem right.”
*7. I won’t bite the hand.*
“A lot of wrestlers reach a point where they feel it’s not cool to be in WWE. Not me. I can do movies and work full-time here. Why would I ever say it’s not good enough?”

WWE superstar spends day granting wishes for sick kids-Photos
HOUSTON — More than 50 kids’ wishes came true at Reliant Center when World Wrestling Entertainment superstar John Cena showed up for a pizza lunch and a special fan session.
The event was part of the Make-A-Wish foundation and Paul Wilson was one of the children at the event. The 18-year-old was diagnosed with a life-threatening medical condition a couple of years ago.
“They flew my family and I down from Indiana,” said Paul, who was there with his brother, grandfather and mother. “It’s my first time seeing the WWE live. I’ve only seen it on TV.”
The fifty kids and their families came from all over the country to take part in the 25th Anniversary of WrestleMania in Houston.
Paul’s grandfather, William Wilson, says the entire event came as a surprise.
“They asked if we were available this weekend and flew us out first class from Indiana. It’s been nice. We didn’t need to worry about anything,” said Wilson.
Over the weekend, the kids had a private tour of the Houston Zoo, an autograph session with the WWE Superstars and Divas, a special WrestleMania Axxess event and of course, the Make-A-Wish pizza party with special guest John Cena.
“I didn’t know I was going to meet John Cena until just now,” said Paul. “Not until they called my name to go up and meet him.”
Cena is one of the Make-A-Wish Foundation’s most-requested wish granters. He’s granted more than 130 wishes since 2004.
In addition to personally shaking each kid’s hand and taking a photo with them, Cena was formally introduced as the foundation’s newest Wish Ambassador.
“Moments like this are special for me,” Cena said. “As long as Make-A-Wish wants me, I’ll be happy to keep granting wishes.”
Based on the response from the kids, Cena may be granting wishes for a long time. The children cheered, shook his hand and hugged the wrestling superstar as he spent a little one-on-one time with each of them. Cena also signed hats, shirts and books.
Watching the kids laugh and smile, you almost forgot that each of them had a life-threatening condition, including Paul.
“They found a tumor in my brain when I was 16. That’s when I joined the Make-A-Wish Foundation,” said Paul.
Paul was one of the luckier kids in the room as his condition is currently in remission. His grandfather said that after they found the tumor, Paul underwent intense radiation treatment.
“He just had a MRI and it came back clear. So we’re hoping it stays that way,” said Wilson.
But just in case the tumor does return, the family is thankful for each day and especially for the support they’ve gotten from the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
“The foundation has been really wonderful. I can’t say enough good things about them,” Wilson said.
- While taking to the media for the “Race to Witch Mountain” UK tour, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson was asked when we would see him in the wrestling ring again. Here’s a transcript:
Reporter: When will we see you in the ring again?
Johnson: No. Probably not. I retired quietly 5 years ago.
Reporter: John Cena at WrestleMania possibly?
Johnson: *laughs* That’s very funny, he’s funny.

"[My favorite past memory is] Hulk vs. Andre, WrestleMania III. Everything about it was superhuman. The attendance, the event itself was larger than life. It was the two biggest guys at the time, and the impossible happened. [As for my own career], I have so many memories, but I'd have to say WrestleMania 21 against JBL - the first time I ever won the WWE Title."
